How many of you use www.gasbuddy.com?

There are nearly 200 URLs that direct to www.gasbuddy.com such as www.dallasgasprices.com, www.chicagogasprices.com etc.

Drivers post prices at local stations and you see a online map that can be filtered from 4 to 48 hours ago for reported prices. Typically, prices change most Wed-Sat in the direction they are trending - lower at the time of this posting.

Anyone use it and thoughts?

I love their Android app. Makes it so easy to find cheap gas on the road out of town.

I'll take a glace at gasbuddy occasionally but I always use the same gas station so it's for gits & shiggles mostly.

I agree, most of the time station with cheap gas is not top tier and the line up are long

Re: How many of you use www.gasbuddy.com?

I found a tool bar from 'Alot" that has a few app's (Buttons) for traveling including Gasbuddy
Trip cost calculator,

Trip Cost Calculator is a Gas buddy app that plans your gas stops at the stations with the cheapest prices along your trip giving you the total fuel use and cost during your trip.

Re: How many of you use www.gasbuddy.com?

Only out of curiosity.

I fill up one of 2 local gas stations, that are on my travel routes. Which one I use depends only on which way I'm going.

I use the Android app as well. I use it often and I log prices. You get points for logging prices that you can redeem for entries in drawings for gas cards. It is a great app to use and have recommended it to all my family and friends.

Re: How many of you use www.gasbuddy.com?

Well, gasbuddy is not for Hungary, I guess, but we have a similar site too what I use to look up a few stations along the planned route with better prices when I go on a trip where I can plan the place of fill ups.

When I commute I use the stations(s) on the route. I don't make detours to fill, slightly lower prices would (mostly) never pay back for the gas wasted on going out of my way - especially if you have a small tank.

And on the 48-hour run we just used what we could. At one point we found ourselves with being low on fuel and strangely out of civilization for at least a hundred km. It was still inside Hungary, still among towns and villages, yet we couldn't see any gas stations along the planned route (the route itself was a surprise, we got the itinerary at the start). That was about the only time we took a detour to fill the bikes.

Re: How many of you use www.gasbuddy.com?

I report the stations I drive past daily. The data is only as good as the people who report it. Two of the stations I report, I'm the only one who does.
