What's with the wind these days?? It has been a windy year so far. It hurt on the way home and then I got stuck in a bit of that traffic through the construction zone I was trying to avoid by driving home early. But that wasn't the worst part...
The road construction is scheduled to continue until November 30th!!!
Oh well. We do what we can with what we have, right? On the plus side, my wife's job is confirmed safe!!! Perhaps I'll be navigating that construction mess soon without using any gasoline at all.
51F, 18mph headwind from the N, sunny:
- 112.8mpg for 15.5mi (Work to home with a slight detour)
The tank is now up to 107.3mpg over 738.6mi with 8 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
Day Total: 115.6mpg over 30.5mi
Where's Larry? Did I make it a fourth day?

I suspect Sean and his family are going on a diet; a "green Leafy" diet.

Larry, do you know if there is such a way to charge the Prius pack too ?
Of course without having to buy a full plugin kit.
Larry & Sean, please continue to make me dream
Denis.

Larry, it might be blue...
Denis -- it is possible to charge a Prius pack this way. The connection points are well documented in plenty of online guides to making the Prius a PHEV using the Enginer kit... which is essentially a way to keep the stock battery charged with an extra battery pack. Depending upon your budget you could buy a charger from Mike Dabrowski ( http://99mpg.com) and hook it up to a home constructed harness for your vehicle.

Denis, I've heard of it being done before. It would be a relatively simple matter of adding another 48V supply to my grid charger to bring the output up to what a Prius pack would need for a balancing charge. However, there would be little mpg benefit (very short term of a mile, maybe 2 a best) since the Prius gets really unhappy when the SoC begins to approach true 80%; the 8 green bars on the Prius FCD aren't 100% but closer to about 83%. When the SoC gets much over 65% the car begins to do everything it can to get the SoC back down to the 60% level by means such as delaying ICE start when pulling away from corners and when it's up around the 80% level, it will randomly fire up the engine multiple times to burn off the excess SoC.

Well, there is a variety of carrot that is blue, but blueberry bushes are pretty leafy, too.

10.1 miles
177.6 wh/mi
189 MPGe
Caught in school traffic. I usually know better as I have a choice. Battery faults are every time I go over about 8 miles now. Lights only come on when using power. Doesn't affect the glide.
Sean, I recall MN has two season's: winter and road construction. You had a mild winter so maybe you're in for a nasty bit of road construction.

Okay, Larry -- thought I was tossing you a carrot.
Mike -- you need those new batteries pretty badly now!!
That stretch of road under construction is overdue, but not that bad. I think they are working on pipes/etc underneath the pavement under the right lane so it is down to dirt with backhoes and such parked there. I wish they'd take out some of the lights (permanently!) while they're at it.
Good luck on your exam, Kirk!!!
