The heck with the overpriced "Speed" versions. You can get a really nice NA, dump a couple grand into it with a nice turbo setup and do better than the stock NB MazdaSpeed. And as far as I'm concerned, this little 1.6L is better and more fun than the 1.8L!
This presumes I have time to wrench. I do not . Therefore, it'd be far easier to pay the penalty of getting one with a turbo stock.
I really have nothing against those that want to tinker and mod. For me, I've just got no desire for it. 5 kids, 2 jobs, 2-3 hour daily commute, and basically being a single parent leave me with little free time as it is .
Maybe ChopsQube is one of those rare individuals who is much smarter than a Japanese auto engineer.
And it's the arrogant "know it all" comments like the one above why I hardly ever visit this forum. The attitude of some members on this forum sucks...
