HCH SoC Scangauge codes

Hiya folks,

Are there codes for monitoring SoC on the HCH-II? I thought that I had found them at one point perusing the interwebs but all subsequent attempts to find them again have proven unsuccessful. Sorry if there's already a thread for this.

The bar indicator just isn't anywhere near precise enough, especially since almost all of my recals these days are ocurring at six bars.

Thanks,
Spock

Re: HCH SoC Scangauge codes

There is no Xgauge data on Honda vehicles on the Scangauge website, for starters.

Re: HCH SoC Scangauge codes

Spock, that data isn't available via the normal communication mechanisms employed by the ScanGauge. Older Hondas actually use a different pin in the OBDII connector to transfer hybrid specific data so a ScanGauge will never work for those and IIRC the newer Hondas still use a different communication mode so the ScanGauge still won't be able to retrieve that information.

On the positive side, Peter over in GB has been working on a homebrew gauge for a while now that can display the information you are interested in for the first generation Insight (both DiamondLarry and I have one of these gauges) and it works to some extent in the first generation HCH. He also has plans to expand the supported vehicle set to the HCH-II but this is contingent upon obtaining the correct hardware so he can "snoop" the data protocols. You can read about his efforts and current project status over on InsightCentral at the following link:
