Toyota Ups The Price Of Some Of Its Fuel Misers… And Most Everything Else Too
Will the price increases affect the company’s sales rebound going forward?
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - March 30, 2012
2012 Toyota Prius v – The highly regarded 42 mpgUS combined rated small CUV/Wagon sees its MSRP increase 0.6% and we are only 4-months into the New Year.
Toyota today is saying it will be charging higher manufacturer’s suggested retail prices for most of its Toyota and Scion models. Models receiving price increases include the 2012 Toyota Prius v, Camry and Camry Hybrid, Highlander Hybrid, and Tacoma pickup truck and the 2013 Scion tC.
Fortunately, prices for all other Toyota and Scion models remain unchanged.
Price Increases
The model-by-model price increases reflect individual percentage increases ranging from 0.4 to 1.0 percent and will begin with May 2012 production.
2012 Toyota Model-By-Model MSRP Change

All prices listed above exclude the Delivery, Processing, and Handling (DPH) fee
What is readily apparent from the above is that the now defunct Ford Ranger will provide Toyota a bottom line increase with higher Tacoma prices.
In addition, it was fortunate that Prius hatch, c and PHEV prices were left alone.

I doubt this will even be felt by consumers, as nobody really pays sticker for a new car, and an extra $200 when you're financing over 4-5 years equates to about $2/mo for the payment.

This WILL be felt by consumers. The dealer's best price is based on his cost. The good news is no price increase for Prius c and liftback. Yet.

$250 is trivial to the $5,000+ that dealers usually charge for the privilege of buying a Prius.
