Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

69.3 home last night - I was in a bad mood and my mpg suffered.
75.3 this morning - much better.

The tank is still reading 71.2 and now at 560 miles and exactly 1/2 on the gauge. 590 was my best 1/2 tank reading this summer.

Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

We started out with 36° and the wind was SE@ 5-15 mph. It has now risen to 43° and the wind is still SE@ 5-15 mph. The daily is just barely hanging onto the 80 mpg range with 81.4 mpg. I still have the weekly shopping trip and the highway trip Sunday.
86.5 9.4
73.7 9.4
56.0 1.5
84.7 7.9
104 .1
67.7 .8
91.4 8.4

Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

Bah... darn wind/weather/traffic. 57.9 over 47 on the way in. I was reminded this morning just how much I hate driving with "the crowd"... I had to put the four ways on just 1 mile outside the house for an Elantra that was glued to my butt driving at the upper limit. At the very least, she held herself in check and passed safely a few miles down the road after that.

Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

I did okay considering the wind and typical crazy Friday traffic. Too bad about the traffic -- it was the warmest day I think I've ever seen in a Minnesota November.

60F, 12-14mph wind from the SSE, sunny:
  • 91.1mpg for 3.7mi (Home to doctor's office)
  • 94.2mpg for 4.1mi (Doctor's office to home)
The tank is down to 97.0mpg over 398.7mi with 14 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.

Day Total: 92.3mpg over 7.9mi

Huzzah for short exposure times to tailgaters!

Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

Today it seems is the day of the WIND

School/work>
- 18.6 / 1.3 miles (59F S20 Gusting to 26)
- 24.6 / 12.3 miles (should have been higher with those tailwinds )

home>
- 23.2 / 13.2 miles (72F S16 Gusting to 31)

daily avg - 23.6 over 26.8 miles
tank is just under 5/8 with 195.9 on the odo

Suppose to have 2 more days like this, crazy weather, it is suppose to be a high of 62. Sean I think you got Southern Missouri's weather today.

Re: Week of November 2nd - November 8th (Nat Avg $2.71)

That was close. I just about didn't make 80 mpg today. We topped out at 54° and the winds stayed SE@ 5-15 mph.
86.5 9.4-to wife's work
73.7 9.4-back home
56.0 1.5-to bank
84.7 7.9-to BMV
104 .1-to accountant office
67.7 .8-to gas station
91.4 8.4-back home
96.4 9.4-to wife's work
68.3 7.9-to Meijer
77.8 13.0-back home via my mom's
Average for today was 80.6 mpg.

I've read that you got better, good

Well, that 3.08l/100 is final for the last tank. When I started Teresa the reserve light came out in 10 meters But considering the weather and other circumstances I'm still satisfied. Last winter I could not do any better than 3.5l, so even this 3.08 is much better. We'll see what can I accomplish without fast 2-up rides and when I'll always ride even closer to freezepoint.

This morning the weather was much nicer than on Thursday, it was 6C and light fog instead of 2C and rain, so I got to work without getting soaked. The road was really wet so I tried some ridge riding where I could identify anything like a ridge - the inner side of the lane on the 2-lanes of Budapest and the right lane on the Székesfehérvár 4-lane on my way here. This really made sense because the outer lane has many ponds in the lengthwise delves (I don't know the correct English term for these 'valleys' made by the trucks and buses in the tarmac...)
The freeway is nice edge to edge.
