Tesla owner makes Greenwich, CT Greener
Another who made the 9/11 connection is spending his $’s were it counts most.
Wayne Gerdes - CleanMPG - Nov. 4, 2009
2010 Tesla Roadster on delivery day - EPA-estimated at 244 miles per charge, the Roadster costs less than $5 to refuel and liberates owners from trips to the gas station.
It’s quicker to 60 than Porsche 911 yet twice as efficient as a Prius.
Real Estate Agent Ken Edwards Joins Clean Tech Vanguard with Solar-Powered Roadster
Connecticut real estate agent Ken Edwards was inside the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 – an experience that made him reevaluate his buying decisions in light of national security concerns.
In July, Edwards took delivery of an all-electric Tesla Roadster when leading electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla Motors launched a gallery in Manhattan’s Chelsea Art District. Edwards also installed photovoltaic panels at home, joining the vanguard of the “PV+EV” revolution.
“Finally my car is being fueled by the sun, not Sunoco, as I ‘ride free’ past gas stations,” Edwards said.
Edwards whips around Greenwich in a green Roadster with “SUN PWR” plates. Check out his Tesla blog and others from some of the 900 people who already own the Tesla Roadster.

Re: Tesla owner makes Greenwich, CT Greener
I think it's worth commending those with the means who choose to use them for this sort of thing and for the right reasons. That's the only way alt energy and serious EVs are going to trickle down to we common folk, unfortuntely.

Re: Tesla owner makes Greenwich, CT Greener
The sad part is that some tesla owners may have bought the car simply because it is a "cheap" Lamborghini if you know what I mean. They bought it because they wanted 0-60 in 4 seconds for "only" 100 grand instead of 300 grand and not because they care about the environment. They also have several other very expensive vehicles including gas guzzlers. I'm not saying all tesla owners are like that but its very possible that some unfortunately are. I commend those who buy the tesla for the right reason. Unfortunately, the car is too rich for my blood and probably always will be. The people who want them can't afford them but the people who can afford them usually don't want one.

I don't care if they buy them for the "right" reason, whatever that means. I have no reason to judge their decisons. I just want them to buy them and prove the concept. In 3 or 5 or 10 years, someone will make them cheap enough for the rest of us. Cell phones, VCRs, and microwaves were all prohibitively expensive at one time. The "rich" bought them as toys or doodads or status symbols, generated desire/envy in the rest of us, and generated motivation by manufacturers to get them to the rest of us.
Bravo early adopters!

Re: Tesla owner makes Greenwich, CT Greener
I hope they are cheap one day so everyone can afford one. Until then I will have to make do with my 1987 Nissan Sentra Electric conversion with runs on PBA batteries. This is my way of saying #$%^ you to GM for killing the EV1.

Re: Tesla owner makes Greenwich, CT Greener
Hi Jesse:
___It is time to forget about those junk Pb-Acids. They were never made for BEVs and were a waste of time and effort for such a long period of time
___Fortunately from some, Enginer is offering up a great deal on ThunderSky Li-Ion’s for < $440/kWh.
LiFeP04 Battery - $259 w/ free shipping
___Good Luck
___Wayne
