Hello!
I'm new to this forum, so I just wanted to say hello. I drive a 2004 Acura TSX (no navigation) with the 6 speed manual transmission.
It already does great on gas, being a 2.4 L 4 cylinder, achieving about 30 mpg in mixed driving in the winter and 32 mpg (mixed driving) in the warmer months. I joined up to see what else I can squeeze out of her!
So far, I have only modified the intake to make it less restrictive, which has yielded about 1 mpg and a few more hp.
Pictures will be posted later.

Welcome! Here's what I managed in a car like yours last summer with an average of 62mph P&G on the highway:
It's worth a lot more in town if you apply the techniques correctly.

Am I seeing an avg. MPH of 96?
I knew these cars were efficient, but geez!

Dude...96mph? That must have been one heck of a ride off that cliff!

Re: New Member
Nah... that part isn't correct. The Honda built in mileage computer gets confused about speed when you coast with the engine off. The other numbers are correct -- divide the distance by the time to get the true average speed. At one point that average speed readout was up to 112mph.
Speaking of engine off coasting -- this car is a bear to maneuver at parking lot speeds with those monster wide and sticky tires!

Yeah that would take some steering effort. The new TSX has electric power steering, which would make it a lot easier. I still have the old hydraulic system, so I had better work on my forearm strength.
My TSX doesn't have the trip computer. It was added in 2005, so its just simple division for my calcs.

Re: New Member
I was extremely impressed by the efficiency offered by the model I drove -- it has some serious horsepower for that sort of fuel thriftiness! I highly recommend getting a ScanGauge at your earliest opportunity. It will give you the same information (and much more) and it helps with fine tuning your efforts enormously.
