2010 European Prius-III – Rated at 60 mpgUS combined on the NEDC.
The all-new 2010 Toyota Prius has achieved a maximum 5-star vehicle safety rating in the latest Euro NCAP ratings. With an overall score of 83 %, the Prius is the third Toyota model to be granted a 5-star rating this year, after the new Toyota Avensis and iQ.
The new Prius highlights Toyota’s engineering capabilities in developing a vehicle chassis that delivers strong environmental, dynamic and safety performance. Upgraded with the very latest in active, passive and pedestrian impact safety features, the Prius’ impact absorbing body shell, seven airbags and active headrests are only the beginning.
Additional standard safety features include Electronically-Controlled Braking (ECB) incorporating Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRC) and Vehicle Stability Control+ (VSC+). The new Prius is also available with a new pre-emptive, Pre-Crash Safety System (PCS), incorporating Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
Since the vehicles launch in June, over 17,000 have been sold to date.
