Lutz to appear on Letterman and counter Volt-bashing
 After feigning electrocution earlier when Elon Musk and the Tesla was on his show, Letterman is having Bob Lutz (who just sold all his GM stock) to respond to the Volt-bashing.

After openly mocking General Motor’s Chevy Volt vehicle a few weeks back with a string of innacurate comments, David Letterman is getting ready for a counter-offensive from Bob Lutz. The former vice-Chairman of GM will be on the show next Wednesday night to refute Letterman’s claims and show off a (hopefully updated) version of the Volt.
During the earlier interview with Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Letterman lashed out at the Volt saying, “The VOLT has a range of 40 miles,” Letterman said. “That will get you down the driveway and back. I mean, it’s insane. 40 miles is the range of the VOLT. That’s ridiculous.” In reality, the Volt has a range extender on-board that will boost that distance to more than a couple hundred. Not to mention the fact that 40 miles is more than enough for the average American’s commute to work and back

When I watched the Tesla guy on Letterman, what Dave said about the 40 miles and how it just lets you go to the driveway and back, I thought he was just being sarcastic. You know, like he was just poking fun at the Tesla guy.

Perhaps he is referring to his own driveway?? Having such a long driveway must be terribly inconvenient. Hardships of the mega-rich I suppose...

I thought Bob Lutz had retired.
Can't imagine seeing him on letterman will be anything more than than fluff, but I will be watching.
