Wink 54.8 MPG when I arrived in my Parking Place at work {Today}

54.8 MPG, when I arrived at work and backed up in my parking place.

I drove speeds from 30 to 55 MPH and this was done on two-lane roads and the city. I did do some "FAS" when I could and did not have the A/C on. I was able to (Believe-It-Or-Not) drive through the {Stop-Lights} by looking ahead and coasting {Just-As-They-Would-Turn-GREEN} and also by very carefully watching the Instant Fuel Reading and backing off the gas going up the grades and then carefully coasting down the slight grades. I cannot believe that I was able to drive to the dealership without any real traffic or stop light problems. It was like having it your way. Just smooth and care free. When I backed up in the parking place I looked down (Ice-Off) and read the miles. From my house to the parking place was 4.9 Miles and the MPG was 54.8. I did not Pre-Warm the car up. This was done from the Garage to the parking place at work. Believe me if you lived here you would really {Appreciate} this endeavor. This low mileage run through the city is not conducive to high Fe readings. The HCH II now has 439-Miles on it. So the Hybrid is still real New. I tried one more thing today with the car just to see what the FE would be for a complete day of travel with it. So I did not reset the trip on it. I took the car to lunch, and this once again was some driving on the Interestate as well as two lane roads back to the dealer. I then just for the heck of it, went to the Bank through the Drive Up window. Then back through the stoplights on the way back home on the two lane roads and this time with traffic. It is Friday. The Total Miles Driven was 24.3 and the MPG was 47.3. Now if any of you own or have friends that own one of these HCH II's I can tell you that this is like Un-Believable !!!!!! That is why I have taken the time to share this days travels with everyone. Tire Pressure is 50 1/4 Lbs.

I Likeeeeeeeee this HCH II. It is very indeed.

Wow, that's pretty impressive for the car still being brand new! You should almost certainly be able to get some 60mpg tanks or even more at the rate you're going.

Thats just great Terry,that kind of mileage with a warm up and short run you just don't see on a new vehicle. After break in and that rolling resistance breaks free, your going to go crazy with FE I can tell.

Hi Terry:

___I cannot wait to see what you will do with her when you can drive a longer distance and find an even better route off the Interstate! That thing is starting to sing even with all the short distance stop/starts! Nice job.

___Good Luck

Belated Congrats

Tiger,

That is awesome! For awhile, that was the mpg on my Insight when it was new. In other words, you probably would have gotten at least 75mpg on mine.
