My HCH test drive
My sister and her husband recently got a HCH. They needed a bigger car since they are expecting a baby in a few months. Anyways, they were in town from Chicago and I asked about taking there car for a drive since I was curious about how a hybrid runs. I had talked to my brother-in-law about hypermiling and he told me about how my sister and him try to get better mileage than the other. He and my step-brother (who's 19 years old) went with me on my drive and I told them a few tips to get better mileage in their hybrid and directed them to cleanMPG. Over a 26 Mile drive I reached 55.4 MPG. Not bad considering I was on unfamiliar roads and in a car I had never driven before. My brother-in-law was greatly impressed with my efforts. My step-brother though suffers from lead foot poisoning, and is young so I don't think he will be as willing to change his habits. So, hopefully I got at least one convert.
