Help with IAT Modification
I went and made myself a warm air intake by using cheap pipe insulation fastened with some high temperature tape. I haven't been driving on long enough trips to really get it heated up, but I've seen about 110-115F on my scanguage.
I want to try the IAT mod everyone seems to be talking about, only I want to make sure I have complete control of it. I want my IAT sensor to still work when I want, so I am going to hook it up to a SPDT switch with a potentiometer controlling the resistance.
Unfortunately, I've never worked with these little gadgets. I need help wiring this together. I know I splice the signal wire on the IAT sensor (I'm not sure which one that is) and that gets routed into the interior dash. How do I hook up to the switch and potentiometer, and what kind of potentiometer should I get? I'm planning on making a trip to Radioshack soon.
Does anyone have a diagram or something of how the wiring works?
