Hi. New to the site (first time). I just bought a Ford Ranger, 2008, 4 cylinder 5 speed. I've heard of hypermiling and tried a few things. I'm now getting between 26 and 27 mpg on my drive to and from work (in Pittsburgh) and thats a few mpg's above 22 EPA city rating! Can't wait to get more experienced and read of other's experiences

Re: First Post

Hi and welcome to CleanMPG! There's quite a few Ranger owners out there, and the Ranger responds very well to hypermiling. There's some of us that routinely get 40+ out of their trucks.

Press up those tires to the max sidewall, slow down and make sure your car runs good. And then check out the thread on how to beat the EPA.. You're mileage will rise in no time.

Re: First Post

Welcome to the club. Also, consider purcasing a ScanGaugeII as it is an invaluable source of information and will quickly pay for itself in fuel savings.
