Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but the article states:

Fuel economy: 47.9 mpg (1.5-liter, Euro cycle)

That's not too shabby - even if it is 39.88!

Looks good to me.
I'd like to see it offered here in the US with the 1.5 and the diesel.

It possibly could be tweaked to be the highest mpg non-hybrid on the US market.
It should be right up there with the Yaris and Fit.

MPG should be better than that.

Problem with Mazda/Ford is. There engines are still in the dark age compared to Honda and Yota.

I miss the R-18 in my Civic. But nothing else about it.
