How Do You Feel Driving a Hybrid/Alternative Fuel Vehicle?

Another forum mentions a recent South Park episode that accuses hybrid drivers of being smug.

A Number of Thoughts/Feelings

I almost answered "persecuted" due to the treatment on the roads and the occasional anti-hypermiler members on hybrid forums.

I get in my car and expect to enjoy the ride. My focus is the fuel economy and getting to my destination. I'm not that concerned with what people think about my Insight or besting someone else.

I'll conceed a bit of the superiority complex among hybrid drivers I saw with Mac addicts. I'm proud of what my hybrid can do, but anyone else could do what I'm doing. What I frown on is the numerious inconsiderate things on the road that seem stupid. These drivers are probably not stupid, but have issues with the need to race, phone in rush hour traffic, drive a Hummer for status... etc....

I think most people invest too much of their ego on the roads. Isn't a vehicle to go somewhere and not a means to itself?

Re: How Do You Feel Driving a Hybrid/Alternative Fuel Vehicle?

I just like driving my car. I don't even think of it as a hybrid. Its just a nice car with nice tools.

Re: How Do You Feel Driving a Hybrid/Alternative Fuel Vehicle?

you should have added the option, "I wish I could drive one if they were more affordable."
