The number of questionable claims for fraudulent, staged accidents went up 46 percent from 2007-9, according to a new report from the National Insurance Crime Bureau.
The basic idea is a kind of movable feast for the larcenous. It typically involves several vehicles setting up another motorist to take the blame for an accident in which injuries are feigned.

There used to be this ragamuffin on my way to work that used to always try to get clipped by a low-speed car on purpose so that she could get some law$uit dollar$. Cars would have to frequently make defensive swerves to avoid her as she would step out into traffic from inbetween two parked cars. One day, she got her wish. She got hit by a car. But I don't think she'll be collecting any lawsuit money from the morgue.
