Aero Wheel Covers?

Has anybody done aero wheel covers? I'd love to give these a try.

My stolen (thank the guys at ecomodder.com) idea is using pizza trays to cover the wheels as much as possible. I have 15" steel wheels with many holes that could be used for zip-ties. And no qualms about having an ugly car, as it's already pretty darned bad.

Re: Aero Wheel Covers?

Needed hubcaps anyhow, so here's my interpretation.

Went to china-mart and got the closest to OEM look hubcaps they had. Still a bit cheesy, but the best looking ones I've seen to date, including online. Then went to arts and crafts for a giant sheet of (likely virgin) 2mm vinyl to wrap around the caps. Cut the vinyl, wrapped it around the caps, and literally slapped them on. Not too bad for $20, and my car looks better from 15 feet away than black steelies.

Hopefully will see some benefits tomorrow on a trip. Noticed today on my commute the drag from the blank steelies was pretty intense, as my glides weren't very good, even with freshly inflated (slightly above sidewall) tires.
