Scan Gauge Setup

Hello everyone I am fairly new to this site and recently bought a SG2 in my 2005 Chevy Impala. Everything works great, but I still had some more questions about this awesome tool. I want to add trans temp to my X-gauge. I have checked the Scan Gauge website and have found two possible choices for programming GM vehicles. One list gives codes for GM VPW and the other list is for GM CANSF vehicles. I bought my car in the US so I am guessing the CANSF is for Canadian models? Please help.

Re: Scan Gauge Setup

It is my understanding that "CAN" is an acronym for Controller Area Network. I'm not exactly sure what the SF designation might mean.

Re: Scan Gauge Setup

How can I tell if my protocol is GM VPW or GM CANSF?

Hi AJ:

___Use the default BUS, input both X-Gauges and if one reads correctly, you have it is what I would do.

___Good Luck

Re: Scan Gauge Setup

MORE>MORE>MODE will show which mode your ScanGauge is reading. Hit the Home button to exit the screen. You don't want to accidentally change the mode.

@kwj, I think SF is short format. LF would be long format.
