New to SGII

I have it installed and it appears to be working correctly. Spedo is correct based on my GPS, I running my first full tank to verify that measurement is correct. I'm also going to set it Hybrid?? based on what I have read here so it doesn't turn off when I FAS.

I drive a 2004 Ford Freestar, love the vehicle and the SGII appears to have great information. Besides being just another fun toy, my question is, how do I use it now to help me save even more gas and improve my mileage?

Re: New to SGII

Hello,
the quick and dirty answer is to get to your destination using the least amount of fuel.
I have the trip average MPG, the inst. MPG, the GPH (gallons per hour) and LOD showing in the display. While driving glance down to see what the instant MPG is doing under different conditions. You may find that you can coast in gear and use no gasoline while doing it.
Monitor your trip gage after you get to or from work, it will tell you what you consumed that day. Once you get used to using this info, you can try other techniques and see if they work for you. It is a lot easier than waiting to fill the tank and crunching the #'s.
