Milwaukee/Madison Hybrid Group meet/ Milwaukee Brewer’s Game - June 11, 2006.

Hi All:

___Synopsis w/ a few pics: Discussion on HF 2006, some info on basic hybrid setup for some of the attendees, the game itself, and a quick spin in the TCH Eric brought to the meet ...

___Eric, his 3 boys, and I met up at the Culver’s staging area around 07:50 AM. Channel 12 News was there interviewing Bradlee about Hybridfest 2006. We talked and talked and talked … about hybrids of course! Justin and I started taking tire pressures, checked oil levels, and making notes of excess load(s) of all the attendee’s hybrids to discuss with each owner his or her setup for maximizing FE. Of course this lead to a ton of other discussions but I think most found some good out of it? Note: Debbie’s FEH was running in the low 30’s, oil was slightly overfilled, and she still had her roof racks attached. Her lmpg is in the very high 30’s … Wait until she sets her FEH up right! Gloria was a new member who really did not know much about her HCH-I but was extremely enthusiastic in terms of what she could offer either at HF 2006 or possibly through school education as she is a Grade school teacher in the Milwaukee area. What a wonderful new member to meet at the event. She promised to fill up her Dunlop SP20’s ASAP too

Checking tire pressures.

Checking oil levels.

___And here are the results in no particular order. No real issues found but as always, there is always room for improvement for all of us

___Then we all drove over to Miller Park for some tailgating, discussion, and a game of sorts in which Bradlee was asking some really good questions about fuel consumption, emissions, and the environmental impacts. A lot of fun given all the smiles seen around the huddle of attendees. Bradlee sure is an enthusiastic presenter! He even handled a heckler from the group next to us

Bradlee doing what he does best. The heckler was the guy in the back with the beer in his hand

___We all departed the tailgate area for the game. It was an exciting first 5 innings with a lot of runs including a few homers’ but the Home Town Milwaukee Brewer’s succumbed to the St. Louis Cardinal’s 7 – 5.

Brewers made a good show for the home town fans.

___After that, we all met back up at the tailgate area to say goodbye to new found friends as well as old acquaintances. Bradlee, Justin, Eric, Tom, his wife Eileen, and myself hung around until much later for traffic to clear so we could ride in Eric’s TCH review car. Just one of the slow speed segments over ~ 10 miles that I found truly amazing …

64.7 mpg from a TCH?

___After that, Bradlee, Justin, Tom, his wife, and I drove over to a local restaurant and had a great meal while talking about the events of the day before departing on our separate ways.

___Bradlee has a lot more and better photos of the event and we will hopefully see them posted soon. One in particular was a pic of an Insight next to an HCH-I next to a Prius II next to a TCH next to a HH next to an FEH. Or some such order. Great to see that many and types of hybrids all next to one another.

___Good Luck

___Wayne
