Re: CleanMPG reviews the Zero Motorcycles 2009 Zero S

Hi Nevyn:

___Since the Zero Bikes use a very reliable DC motor vs. an AC one, there will not be any regen until they move to a more sophisticated setup.

___In our world, Regen is overrated in most instances due to both conversion losses and actual application although it does help on the test cycles... Someone in the mountains would possibly benefit? Given a bike has so little mass and a huge amount of aero drag allowing for very little regenerative braking recapture to occur, it would not help much. I actually have to applaud Zero for following this path vs. a much more expensive, complicated and surely less reliable AC system for this bike application.

___Good Luck

___Wayne
