neither my insight nor my wifes caravan will warm up without driving. without a load on the engine(s), they hardly get warm at all. get in, buckle up, turn the key, go (gently).

i dont have any issues with the gear ratios. if i want max FE i get it into fifth ASAP. if i want zoom i drop down 2 gears and go. btw, 2nd is good to 70 mph. not so great for FE in that mode though....

are you aware that the insight is made of aluminum? there are a few steel parts, but not many. of course, the aluminum will corrode, but not much.
