When our cars used to run carberators the manufactors would intencialy set them with a high air to fuel ratio in some cases 12:1 or even 10:1 this was so that as the carb broke in and air leaks...

the clutches can see excessive wear if you floor it when going back it to drive some times called a neutral drop seen that many time .
