Re: Red Alert! Hypermilers Threatening Australia!

Hi Wayne:

You are really something else. One of your administrators calls me something similar to a racist, and then you call me a numbskull. Both of you keep bringing up the AAA, which I am not...

Re: Red Alert! Hypermilers Threatening Australia!

I think a big part of the misunderstanding here is one of semantics. For most people I know, the word "hypermiling" means a group of techniques that are likely to result in lower fuel consumption....

Re: Get outta the way...

PTDixieGal, the fact that you are alone and driving your vehicle while under the influence of the medicine you have to take - is disturbing (and dangerous). Can't you find someone, a friend or...

Re: Gasoline falls to lowest price in over 3 months

Interesting, and a bit empowering in that we, the public - if we drive sensibly - can indeed influence the price of gasoline.

Some are saying that gasoline prices will be on the increase again as...

Re: Get outta the way...

I seriously doubt if that is true, in Arkansas or anywhere else in the United States. No one is required to drive at the posted speed limit. The posted speed limit is the NOT TO EXCEED limit. I...

Re: Arnold Joins Obama on Oil Lunacy

The ONLY reason Limbaugh is successful is because the good ole USA has far too many numbskulls who never learned to think for themselves. Those are his fan base, and the numbers are (unfortunately)...

Re: REVIEW: Hymotion Battery Plug-In Prius

Very interesting discussion about the Hymotion conversion of the Prius into a PHEV. One question: Dos the EV switch that everyone is talking about have exactly the same function as the EV switch...

Re: By any other name a Rose is a Rose - Govts & Business Support Responsible Hypermi

OK. I finally get it, and in regard to Wayne's second response - he must have been responding to "James" (not me) rather than me (Jimmy). James was the person talking about Iraq, etc.. What a...

Re: By any other name a Rose is a Rose - Govts & Business Support Responsible Hypermi

Wayne, you and I must be on different wavelengths. What does 9/11 or the Iraqi War have to do with my previous comments - which were:

"I just made a short round trip, driving from Columbus, Ohio to...

Re: Plug in Hybrids a really bad idea

As you say, these nuclear plants employ well trained and well educated personnel - and with an ONGOING MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT UPDATE program - safety issues should be minimized.

The key to...

Re: By any other name a Rose is a Rose - Govts & Business Support Responsible Hypermi

I just made a short round trip, driving from Columbus, Ohio to Dayton, Ohio and back (about 60 miles each way). At the start of the trip I decided to slow my car down a bit and see if the gas mileage...

Re: Plug in Hybrids a really bad idea

I have 2 comments to add to this discussion:

(1). Operating an electric vehicle does NOT add much to your electric bill (for recharging the battery pack). At least it doesn't for me. I drive a...

Re: Car Dealer Dropping Hummers For Scooters

Re: An Inconvient Entrepreneur

T. Boone Pickens is on the right track. We need to start looking for alternative energy sources NOW - not on the day this planet runs out of oil (and it will).

Re: Oil resumes plunge as dollar strengthens

I don't think the current decline of gasoline prices will continue. IMHO, it will soon (after the November election) go back up into the $4 range or higher.

Not that I want Americans to suffer more...

Re: Europe receives a redesigned Ford micro by way of the Ka

Performance, if you can call it that, of 36 mpg is nothing to get excited about - and (I hope) will just bring highway EVs into the forefront that much sooner.

Re: GM Loses $15.5 Billion in Second Quarter

I'm not at all surprised. Looking back at the EV-1s that GM gathered up, took to the desert, and then destroyed shows a certain mindset. Then the fact that the Hummer is still sitting in dealership...

Re: GM’s “Other” Plug-In: The Saturn Vue

Does anyone know how far, how fast the Saturn Vue PHEV can perform in electric only mode?

How long to recharge when plugged in? Recharge with 110 volts or 220 volts? Built-in charger?

Is there an...
