Re: Best hypermilers in an automatic?

I'm getting fairly good mileage, given the size of my Freestyle. It's a 4000+ pound beast, but the CVT helps by leaps and bounds.

It's only flat towable up to 44MPH, so I'm not really doing any...

Re: Corolla 07 Coasting on Neutral?

After reading these posts, I've come up with a few questions.

My 05 Freestyle has a CVT, and is rated for flat towing at 44 MPH in neutral, with the engine off. I would assume that this means I...

Re: New from Ohio

I'm still waiting to enter my frist tank! I've went well over 200 miles on this one, and I'm still showing another 200+ to empty on my trip computer. The average MPG is reading 30.7 right now, as...

Re: Larger Vehicle Recommendations

Not to "one up" you, but my 05 Freestyle seats 7, has a 3.5 V6, CVT, is fully loaded, and rates at 20/27 city/ hwy. I'm averaging about 31 MPG

Re: Aerodynamics -- Boxy Flex’s secret weapon yields mediocre fuel economy

No thanks, I'll keep my 30+ MPG 05 Freestyle with the CVT. The Flex is just WAAAY to expensive, regardless of it's looks.

Ford should revisit the Probe. Design it more like the Probe V...

Re: PSI and Power Steering

Eh, just air them up at the gas station, and don't tell him. Wait until you've got a couple of tanks logged with the new PSI, and compare. :D

Re: PSI and Power Steering

In all actuality, lower pressure will actually make the tires narrower than normal. Think of a flat tire...it's always wider. The sidewall is where most of the "flex" in a tire is. Higher...

Re: 06 Awd Freestyle

I hope to continue that trend as well. There isn't much info on here about the freestyle, but for as huge as the car is, you would think it would be insanley popular, given the numbers it can put...

Re: 06 Awd Freestyle

I'm averaging about 32 using my MPG display on the dash. I'm still waiting to add the first tank, as I filled up today, but didn't note the mileage on the previous tank.

What are you taking the...

Re: Question ragarding commuting

I wish I only lived 0.5 miles from work. It'd be a bike ride every day until the temp's dropped into the 20's in winter.

Either way, to answer your question, do a straight drive to work. Heck, one...

New from Ohio

Hi all. I'm new to the forum, from Akron, OH. I've heard about hypermiling for the last few months now, and have been reading quite a few of the posts on here.

I currently have 3 vehicles:
