Re: GM may revive the electric car.

I would have to think that the losses within the system would make this a less efficient method. Since the "engine" only charges the battery...and then the battery drives the car, we are looking at...

Re: Camry options

I know one thing.....if you are looking at the V6 XLE you ought to take a look at the Hybrid. My mom was looking for a V6 XLE with Nav, Smart Key and something else. The sticker for the XLE she...

Re: Consumer Guide's Real World Fuel-Economy Champions.

I wonder if these vehicles, especially the Hybrids, were all very new. I assume the Civic, Camry, Prius, etc all behave like the Escape/Mariner Hybrids and require at least 3,000 miles of break-in...

Re: Riding the hybrid bandwagon: Tahoe Regional Planning Agency touts Hybrid fleet.

I see a ton of Hybrids in Philly. We have Philly Car Share which lets people 'rent' Priuses around the city (and other non-hybrids). Actually, a few city agencies have done away with under-used...

PA state Hybrid Rebate is for real...

I sent in my application the day the website came back online on July 19th. My check for $500 arrived in the mail today.

It is a "while supplies last" deal based on a $3 million grant if I am not...

Re: 0% financing again

Sounds familiar for some reason....could be that's exactly the vehicle that we've got, though we are only for 60 months at around $570/mo. We actually financed EVERYTHING including taxes, tags, etc....

ICE shutdown for the FEH/MMH?

In reading about the MIMA for the Insight, and considering my own wishes for improving the FE of my Mariner Hybrid, it got me to thinking that an extremely useful "mod" would be an ICE shutdown...

Re: NADAguides Explores Relationship Between Research Trends and Sales.

Eureka!!! You mean to tell me that people are actually researching the cars they are buying??? Holy crap. I guess the people at NADA were bored. Couldn't they do a more useful study like whether...

Re: GM's Wagoner doesn't fear $4 pump prices.

I don't want to imply that Wagoner has blinders on, but if you told me that 1/4 of my customer base was going to go away I'd be worried. Then again I guess he is being optimistic in focusing on the...

Re: FE calculations

I wish the EPA would do away with all of their routes and calculations and just give us straight numbers. Honestly, there is probably not one person in the country who drives how the current test is...

Re: Ford's Overlooked Hybrid Makes New Strides -- And The Mileage Kicks

Wayne, if Ford is having trouble competing with a non-existing vehicle (anyone actually SEEN one of these Vue Hybrids yet?) then there are some SERIOUS problems.

Re: New here...just saying hello!

Today marked my best in-city loop to date. I actually ran a hybrid route (no pun intended) as I had to drop off my wife. I jumped on the highway right away and then about halfway through, hopped...

Re: New here...just saying hello!

Here are my three choices (and thanks!).

1.) Straight shot across the city. LOTS of cars. Redlights EVERY block. Rarely get over 20mph. Result = 27mpg which is why I am looking at 2 & 3.

2.)...

Re: New here...just saying hello!

Gary, one of my biggest problems is getting enough speed to do a fake shift or even regen enough. Too many stop signs and too many red lights. I have a hard time building a full charge early on. ...
