Re: Motorcycling becomes safer with SafeRide

I added a headlight modulator to my SH150I. It was very easy to install, and I have noticed a difference in how traffic behaves near me.

Re: GE’s hybrid water heater earns Popular Science accolades

This is a good tank, but it's still hard to beat solar to make hot water.

Re: A glimmer of hope for Subaru?

We have an 08 Outback and love the car. My non hyper-milling wife get 28 mpg in the city. I didn't think that the AWD was needed, but after a few years of driving it, I've become a big fan. The...

Re: LA Doctor convicted in attack on Cyclists

I read this as I wait for the sunscreen to soak in for my morning ride and I think about all the new "friends" the lonely doctor is going to make in jail.

Re: Fisker Dances With the UAW

Honda and Toyota don't have unions but for the most part pay union scale. The UAW does the heavy negotiations and the Japanese firms just pay it to avoid trouble. The Honda and Toyota workers...

Re: LA Doctor convicted in attack on Cyclists

I have no sympathy for this guy. I ride about 110 miles a week and have been fortunate so far. I would hate to think that some guy feels that he has any right to injure others is on the road.

Re: UAW/Ford differences could hurt both and many others

I would like to disagree with the above sentiment. I think that unions have brought many benefits to working class Americans. Is a retirement, health care and a living wage too much to ask for? Do...

Re: Southwest Airlines debuts their "Green Plane"

Maybe they could charge a base fee, and add on for extra weight. I think that would go over like a lead zeppelin, but it would work well for my skinny butt.

Re: Southwest Airlines debuts their "Green Plane"

I used the above formula and came up with a savings of 16,000 gallons annually. I figured 12 flight hours a day for 330 days.

Re: California’s Push for Electric Cars May Raise Costs for Power

I think that it is bad form to avoid upgrading the grid for decades and then blaming it on
upcoming electric cars.

Re: GM exec: Volt not yet cost competitive

I think that I'm getting lost in all the terminolgy, but the bottom line for me is that for a lot of people this car will need Sta-Bil Fuel Stabilizer to keep the unneeded fuel from going bad.

Re: GM exec: Volt not yet cost competitive

Most people don't drive 300 miles on a regular basis. For the average commuter, 40 miles on battery will suffice. Most will charge from the local utility at night when power demand is at it's...

Re: Chevy Volt poised to resuscitate dying automotive town Flint, Mich.

I see a lot of comments about the price for the Volt. In the early to mid 80s I bought a cordless drill. It cost me 1/2 week worth of pay. Now they sell for $40. It had to start somewhere, and I...

Re: Ethanol-free gas becoming popular

We have a supplier in Ormond Beach. It's Cunningham gas. I want to use it for my scooter. A 5% increase would put me over the 100 MPG.
