Or you can drive it up on a pair of ramps. Fast and inexpensive. I used to jack up the front end and place jack-stands on both sides. Wish I had gotten the ramps years ago. Would have saved mucho...

At work I park at the top of a hill. When leaving, depending on the spot, the car will begin to roll on it's own, or I just need the one foot out the door push to get it going.

The Mazda 6 comes with a large tray that pretty much covers the entire underside of the engine bay . You have to remove the whole thing to change the oil and filter, but it's 7 easily accessible...

But if you could rig up a way to assist brakes with the engine off,...

Sorry, but if you're going to log mileage on this site, you should do it the by the rules.

If you don't like the rules, I'd suggest you run your numbers on your own spreadsheet.
