I realize they're not in the class, but the GLK diesel is a full $20k cheaper than the Grand Cherokee diesel up here. Heck even the Touareg TDI and the ML Bluetec are cheaper than the Grand Cherokee...

US. It seems to be a couple mpg lower than the Passat for steady state cruising. So around 56-57mpg at 60mph?

Back in Canada off of roaming data services, about 2 hours to Toronto. I don't know if it's just the pumps I go to but American diesel pumps dont seem to be held to the same standard as the gasoline...

Turbos these days come on at pretty much any rpm. Ask for more than a 1.4L can deliver and it will probably be boosting regardless of rpm.

On the way there we're just going to go as far as we can and take some breaks at rest stops. We'll definitely be taking turns driving. The way back we'll be spending 2 nights in Chicago and 1 night...
