People disparage Honda hybrids a lot, but my 2003 HCH went 157k miles before the battery died. That is almost twice the warranty limit. My 2010 Insight has 77k miles and has needed zero emergency...

Everytime gas prices drop for a while, the American consumer runs out and buys the biggest SUV on the market, thus driving fuel prices back up. It's frustrating and pathetic.
