I had to drop my bike this weekend because of someone in a car not paying attention. Not only that, they did not get out of their car, or even roll down the window to ask if I was OK. They just sat there dumbfounded for about 30 seconds, then raced off.

As a "biker" (I prefer motorcyclist) I can't imagine beating up a car driver. I've never been taken out by one, but after my "close calls" I've found no ill will towards the car/truck drivers, but just thankfulness that I avoided an incident and emerged unscathed. Angry, yes, but to the point of beating up, threatening, assaulting, etc., no. I would like to separate myself from the stereotypical mean biker such as that group or gang. Of course 95% of my riding is by myself or with only one other motorcycle as I prefer that over the hazards of group riding.

Glad most Prius drivers aren't like that and most bikers aren't like that.

You never know who has a gun with them. For all the bikers knew the driver could've turned them into a bunch of Trayvon Martins.

I'm not sure the biker community should be so enthusiastic about the "street justice" aspect of the story. It seems like street justice would have the effect of encouraging the "run" part of "hit and run" accidents in the future.

He won't be driving anything for a year, at least not with any kind of license.

The problem with motorcycles is careless car drivers, so a bit of a dust-up might do some good in convincing car drivers to put some care in their driving and watch for motorcycles for a change.

You don't need a license to drive or ride ! Not where I live. Thats only for law-abiding citizens.

25-30% of "drivers" are unlicensed in my state. Driving w/o a license isn't even a minor misdemeanor, just an infraction.
