...because every jerk thinks they are...Special!
Sighted by: 93Hatch
Vehicle: Cadillac
Place: I-64 EB in Newport News, Virginia
Date: April 7, 2008, 5:30 pm
I was traveling at 60 mph (the speed limit) in the right lane, and out of nowhere a Cadillac came up at about 80 mph, and slammed on the brakes to keep from hitting my bumper. He humped the trunk for a few hundred yards, then whipped over to the exit ramp like he was in a car chase scene from a movie. Notice the 25 mph exit ramp speed, the brake lights, and front end nose dive (FEND). The FEND manuever is a classic tell tale sign that you've just been in close proximity with a jerk.
Got stories of your own? Send us your pictures and stories and we'll feature them on Jerk of the Day!
Hi 93Hatch:
___You caught a good pic of someone driving well beyond their means and almost taking you and anybody else in the area out while they were driving like a jerk.
___Glad to hear you made it and let us hope the idiot looses his or her license for a few months and see what walking or biking is all about
___Good Luck
___Wayne
bestmapman 04-09-2008, 06:12 AM WOW, you guys are fast with the camera. I might have to get a new camera. Everytime I want to get a shot it is long gone by the time my camera is fired up.

That pic was from the cellphone. It funny how the aggravation from idiot drivers dissipates once you've snapped a pic!:Banane35:
Since I was going 60 mph, when pulled the NASCAR move to get around me, he must have been doing at least 70 mph when he hit the breaks for that 25 mph ramp. And it looked a like a young man driving daddy's Caddy.

It's all about cell phones. :) It's hard to buy a phone without a camera these days and while they are low resolution and missing lots of the filters and features of a stand-alone camera they are usually on-hand while your camera is in a bag back at the house.
My phone is usually attached to a charging line and resting on the passenger seat so it takes me about 5 seconds to grab it, flip it open and hit the upper right "soft key", then wait while the camera application initializes. That delay means I still miss some things I wish I could have shot, and with driving being the priority you don't always get the shot you want, but gone are the days of seeing something and thinking, "I wish I had a camera!".

Yours won't take pics with the phone closed? My RAZR will. I just hold a button down for second, and the camera feature opens up. This feature is sometimes a pain because when the phone is in my pocket the button will get pressed. I have deleted probably a hundred pics of the inside of my pocket. But I must say that the feature comes in handy for JTOD!

I can see it's time to get a new phone. Any recommendations. I have sprint service.

get verizon, better in every way ;)..o btw it's my job, its what i do... for now at least.
93Hatch 04-09-2008, 03:09 PM I've always had Alltel, and can't complain. Remember, 5, 10, or 20 in your cirlce. Just beware the wizard!
But seriously you can get a free camera phone from any provider I am sure. But Sprint has the best NFL deals.

Cincinnati Bell. It's much better bang for your buck. I'm tied into a two year deal with Verizon, and I consistently live a life of no bars.
I'm using the HP iPAQ 510 Voice Messenger. I get deep discounts from HP so it was an easy choice. Won't work on Sprint I'm afraid. Needs a GSM network.

Anyway. Having Windows on your phone is kinda cool for mileage logs and such. I keep everything in Pocket Excel.
