I thought you all might get a kick out of this. I was going through the receipts for the '67 Mustang today, and found some of the previous owner's smog certificates (in CA, car had to be smogged yearly until it was 30 years old). I have an invoice for the car's final ever smogging in '97, but sadly, only the actual results from 1993 and 1994 :(

--------------- '93 ----- '94 --- Max Allowed
HC (ppm) --- 138 ---- 114 --- 500
CO% -------- 2,74 --- 1,27 --- 5,5
CO2% ------- 12,8 --- 13,6 -- n/a
O2% --------- 1,7 ---- 1,9 ---- n/a
Test RPM ---- 772 ---- 671

O.o

Those are pretty bad by today's standards...

No mention of NOx?

None whatsover. Which is weird, when we bought the car it had some little long-defunct device - looks like it had been placed in there in the 70's - called "ElectroNox". I would have thought if it were deemed important enough to put in there, they would have been NOx testing, but apparently not.

What kind of numbers do an "average" modern car put up? I suppose you can define average however you want to :D

I believe there were no requirements for NOx emissions until the 70s, therefore no test for them.

Interestingly enough, the emissions requirements for a few years were different between imports and domestic cars.
