Although the Honda supplied images reveal little more than pieces and parts, Europe will receive a powerful and extremely fuel efficient diesel powered Accord wagon.
Honda - The eagerly awaited all-new 2009 European Honda Accord (US Acura TSX) is scheduled to be revealed at the Geneva International Motor Show in early March. Along with the Accord, Europe will see for the first time the Clarity FCV and the CR-Z sport hybrid.
Honda plans on showing ten examples of the latest Accord in both sedan and wagon body styles. More important than the evolutionary silky and sportier interior and exterior descriptions, what we are really waiting for is the power plants.
It is not uncommon to see three, four, five and even more choices of engines on a European model and Honda is no exception. The Accord’s new engines include revised 2.0 and 2.4 liter gasoline units and the much awaited all-new 2.2L i-DTEC turbo-diesel. The iDTEC will easily meet the upcoming Euro 5 emission standard but will it be the same Tier II/Bin 5 emissions equipped 2.2L iDTEC that we will see in the US in 2009?
The Honda Geneva press conference is scheduled for March 4, 2008 during which the new Accord will be unveiled.
