I seldom do this these days, and this one was not planned.
I was at an intersection, and 5-speed Insight drivers are probably familiar with pushing the clutch half-way - just enough to put it in 1st so it's all set when the light finally turns green. I inadvertently had the engine go on and the Dodge Ram next to me seemed to take that as a challenge. As we went thru the light and 200 yards down the access road, he gave it gas, so I responded with MIMA....I was on the ramp entering the freeway as he started to catch up and could not resist but to wave and laugh. :p
Wild guess... me: 35mpg him: 3.5mpg

I have a secret desire that such drag racing would push enough gearheads towards bankruptcy they would trade in their gas guzzlers. :D
No, I'm not going to make a habit of this - battery packs cost too much.

even still... I find it increadably funny that an Insight was beating, much less keeping pace with a pickup. It makes sense, but I bet the truck driver was think... what the heck!! :Banane44:

The nethandral truck driver was obsessed about his manhood being violated by that @#$@% girly car. :p
It's a no brainer why he had a hard time keeping up:
Insight weight: 2000lbs Dodge Ram: 6000lbs, but most of it not under it's rear wheel drive
Ram has much higher rolling resistance, might have 4wd
Ram has the aerodynamics of a brick
Ram has an automatic transmission

Now I really need to get my Mima and FAS installed soon. The latest mods I've done have the guys at work stating "It looks like a hot wheels car". Mima will let it act like one if I feel like burning a tablespoon of fuel (once in a while) cheers!

*Most* riced out Civics tend to be DX models with the econo-engine and trans.
Which makes them on par or worse than an Insight.
Don't screw around with an SI though. LOL.
