View Full Version : Week of November 12th - 18th, 2007 (US Ave. $3.10)
brick 11-12-2007, 06:55 AM Happy Monday once again.
This morning was my first commute from the new place. Not a bad route, but it was cold (32F). I'm sitting on a new tank at 65.xmpg that was built up mostly by moving my junk across town yesterday. Turned in a 59.8mpg tank yesterday.
Skwyre7 11-12-2007, 07:09 AM 39.5 MPG this morning. I had a couple glides that were cut short or delayed due to traffic. I think that kept me from hitting 40 mpg. Oh well.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-12-2007, 07:12 AM A busy weekend... but nice driving this morning (minus the quirky lights?!)
37F (33F windchill), 6mph wind from the W, clear:
53.9mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
The tank is up to 51.0mpg over 414.6mi with 7.9g left and the guess gauge is showing 5/8ths.
Chuck 11-12-2007, 07:44 AM 94.2mpg at 60F this morning
PaleMelanesian 11-12-2007, 07:56 AM 57.9 this morning.
Had a right turner in front of me with no warning, so I had to slam on the brakes, then accelerate up a hill, to a light that JUST turned red at the top of the hill. If not for the panic stop, I could have sailed right through it.
tank up to 53.6 / 312 miles
laurieaw 11-12-2007, 07:59 AM had to stop for two school buses where i usually don't catch them.
67.7 to work.
johnf514 11-12-2007, 09:50 AM Morning all! This tank went way too fast - lots of highway driving this weekend.
505 miles, 43 MPG, LFL at 490. Tank has another 60 miles left before crunch time. :P
locutus 11-12-2007, 11:26 AM I added more complete grill blocking yesterday. Numbers were good but it was a little warmer as well.
89.2 / 4.5 miles / 48F <-- I don't have my spreadsheet in front of me right now but I think this is very close to, if not a segment PR :D
81.2 / 5.8 miles / 54F
72.3 / 5.3 miles / 55F
79.9 / 15.6 miles for the day.
The tank's at 74.9 / 553 miles / 2 pips.
PaleMelanesian 11-12-2007, 01:28 PM Lunch: 1.2 miles, 43.8 there, 40.8 back.
diamondlarry 11-12-2007, 02:11 PM Today was another fairly average day, for me anyway.;) The temp was 54F this morning and got to a high of 59F. There was a light to medium rain for the afternoon segments.
1. 75.0-5.8(home to wife's work)
2. 82.6-9.6(wife's work to my work)
3. 69.4-9.6(my work to wife's work)
4. 95.8-6.3(wife's work to home)
Average for today was 78.7 and the tank is at 68.5after 211.1 miles.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-12-2007, 06:14 PM 54F, 9mph (head)wind from the WNW, clear:
53.8mpg for 22.1mi (Work to home)
The tank is up yet more to 51.1mpg over 436.3mi with 7.5g left and the guess gauge is indicating 2 needle widths under 5/8ths.
Hi Tim:
___Great to hear you are touching on 60 with cold temps already upon us? Is it cold in the Carolina’s yet?
___Michael, any alternates to help?
___Sean, low to mid 50’s in 30 degree temps is a real improvement upon where you were 9 months ago. I hope you get that warm day for that 60 before it really turns into an ice-box up there ;)
___Chuck, I do not know what has gotten into you but you are doing spectacular as of late with 90 after 90 after 90!
___Andrew, still holding your mid to high 50’s I see! I hope I can get down to Texas sometime to meet up with you and the rest of the Texan’s in your own back yards.
___Laurie, you just make me smile. I remember when 60 – 65 was tough and now you are punching out high 60’s and low 70’s in temps that are only meant for the polar bears!
___John, are those special muscles starting to tighten as you get close to that 600 miler :D
___Jerad, you just suck  Almost 90 from cold
___Larry, I was speaking to Jerad at the MaHG meet last weekend and I told him I love reading your two posts in the daily grind as it is like two gladiators going at it each and every day :)
___Took the Ranger to the local grocery store 2.2 miles out. 51.7 mpg there and 54.8 mpg back.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
laurieaw 11-12-2007, 08:42 PM ho hum. went to the barn, loved on the horse, but too tired to ride.
65.4.
on edit: wayne, they would be pretty wussy polar bears to call this cold, it's still been in the 50s. we'll see what happens when it gets below zero, which i hope it doesn't. ever.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-12-2007, 09:44 PM Thanks, Wayne! I don't really need it to be warmer... I just need someone to take out every last one of those pesky lights in my way. Then I'll be able to compete with Laurie. ;) ;)
laurieaw 11-12-2007, 09:53 PM Thanks, Wayne! I don't really need it to be warmer... I just need someone to take out every last one of those pesky lights in my way. Then I'll be able to compete with Laurie. ;) ;)
ha. you're just jealous because i told you in my 45 miles to work there are only 6 stop signs. i figure one doesn't count because i make a left turn and there's a quik stop after half a block. it's on a downhill and i can coast.
i should send a google or mapmyrun map of my route to work. you would be amazed at how country it really is, if you were to look at the satellite view.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-12-2007, 11:08 PM Laurie, one of these days I'm going to take some time off, spend the night at your place (with permission of course!!), then see what my car is really worth on your route. I don't have ANYTHING like that around here!
halfnutz 11-13-2007, 01:10 AM Learned valuble lesson about drafting... it is best not to draft dump type tractor trailers, getting new windshield tomarrow. :( It was acctually a grain truck but they seem to be alot more open in the rear than a van type. I heard the rock hit but didn't see the chip above the wiper until the weekend when the crack made it half way to the rearview mirror.
Should have known better to get behind him on one of Illinois' 4 lane gravel divided highways.
I've dropped down to 60MPH on the interstate and now I rarely have the oppertunity to draft anyway as Bobby Bigrigger Supertrucker Extrodinaire has been allowed by ISP to run over the 55 limit for so long they really have to push it on I-74 to get pulled over now.
On the good side I filled up tonite on the way to work and gained about .5 MPG since last week went from 51.77 to 52.3. Not exactly a huge increase but better up than down.:)
I'll take it and chalk the rest up to experience.
Hope every one has a great week.
>halfnutz
Right Lane Cruiser 11-13-2007, 06:38 AM Don't you just love when you are out for a record run and both the environment and the lights are against you??
35F, 16mph (head)wind from the S, clear:
53.4mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
I'm still inching the tank up! It is now at 51.2mpg over 458.9mi with 7.0g left and the guess gauge shows the needle JUST resting on top of the 1/2 mark.
If I have a nice wind like this on the way back this afternoon... ;)
JimboK 11-13-2007, 06:54 AM I've been MIA for a few days here. This past weekend I was making presentations at our annual statewide educational conference, and I was immersed in putting finishing touches on them for much of last week, curtailing my forum time.
The trip to the conference (~200 miles RT) saw well over 60 MPG. Between multiple segments resetting CAN-View's trip readings and a fillup on the way down, I don't have an overall trip MPG, but the two pre-fillup segments were both right at 70 MPG, and the post-fillup segment was about 61 (mostly interstate). The trip home netted about 62 MPG -- not surprising it was lower given a 250' net elevation change and somewhat cooler temperatures.
The fillup, BTW, was 65.6 MPG -- not too bad for the first part of November.
Anyway, back to the normal grind now. 66 MPG this morning on the short ride from my fiancee's, 59F.
PaleMelanesian 11-13-2007, 07:51 AM 55.9 mpg home last night - worked a bit late, so traffic was light
conditions were perfect this morning:
67F
no wind
light dew
light traffic, for some reason?
= 62.6 mpg / 11.2 miles!
tank up to 53.8
laurieaw 11-13-2007, 08:11 AM sean, you'll have to sleep in the barn LOLOL
heavy duty in your face headwind all the way to work. i managed to get out earlier than usual which made for no traffic until the last 5 miles.
63.9. and i worked for that one. whew.
desdemona 11-13-2007, 08:14 AM HEy hey another zero stop light morning. (Two right on reds.) Unfortunately it didn't go into amazing gas mileage. 40 degrees and 43.9 for the mileage. Anyway it makes me feel great to get thru the lights. :-)

Skwyre7 11-13-2007, 08:29 AM Wayne,
There are alternate routes, but they aren't very desirable. My first interrupted glide yesterday was coming down a hill passing an on ramp where the lane continues. Most of the time, traffic speeds around me and is a non-issue. I can easily get in the (new) rightmost lane. Yesterday a school bus tried to merge and was slow enough to stay in my way. I had to burn a little gas to pass it.
The second interrupted glide was on the home stretch coming in to work. There is a small industrial park with semis that like to block the road while they park. I could avoid this by coming around the block the long way. I'll try that tomorrow.
This morning was a lovely 58ºF, with a resulting 43.5 MPG into work. I noticed one drawback about the grill blocking this morning. At a light near the end of my commute, the in-dash temp gauge read 101ºF. Somehow, I don't think that was correct. ;)
Right Lane Cruiser 11-13-2007, 08:42 AM Jim, are you still pulling those numbers with no EBH plugin?
Nice work, Andrew!!! I'm still trying for my 60+mpg trip but no luck so far. Looks like I'll have a headwind on the most favorable route tomorrow, too...
Laurie, have you got an electric blanket?? ;) That wind is fierce, isn't it? :p
Desdemona, you're starting to have some really nice consistency now!! Would you have believed it a couple of months ago if someone had told you your car was capable of what you're seeing now?
Michael, alternates are our bread and butter!!! As Wayne saw when he was here there aren't many on my normal route, but I'm busy mapping out whatever I can!
Chuck 11-13-2007, 09:33 AM 92.1mpg at 69F
johnf514 11-13-2007, 10:43 AM 43.1 MPG into the lot.
JimboK 11-13-2007, 12:23 PM Jim, are you still pulling those numbers with no EBH plugin?
I can plug it in at my fiancee's house, so this morning was EBH-enhanced. Probably would've been a little better if not for more traffic than normal on a rural two-lane road where I can usually get some good P&G in.
desdemona 11-13-2007, 12:35 PM Desdemona, you're starting to have some really nice consistency now!! Would you have believed it a couple of months ago if someone had told you your car was capable of what you're seeing now?
I would have thought you were smoking something? :-)
Nice-on (or should I say) FAS on for you as well.
Sean, have fun in the barn in Minnesota in November!! :D

SlowHands 11-13-2007, 01:19 PM I'm really impressed with what everyone is doing here! Good thing, because nobody's going to be impressed with what TorqueNada is doing without ScanGauge for its driver :( I'm trying to not drive it except for back and forth to work on known hypermiling routes, but Saturday I had to do a bunch of errands in ugly ugly traffic... right now I'm guessing I'll be down about 10-15% from my normal - here's hoping for tailwinds both ways!
diamondlarry 11-13-2007, 02:14 PM Things are looking good here so far. I have about 10 miles of driving to do until I'm done and I'm at 86.1 so far. The two segments I have are usually good for 90+ on the way and 80-85 on the way back. A 90 mpg day is looking almost possible.:)
Skwyre7 11-13-2007, 02:58 PM I know this is off topic, but I'm expecting my second SG to be waiting for me when I get home. I will be nice to have one when driving other vehicles (i.e., driving clinics), so I don't lose the adjustments for the 'rolla.
If I have time, I'll have it set up to view my trip mileage along with iMPG tomorrow. (This kind of links it to the daily grind.)
Hi Michael:
___Even with a spare, I loan mine out and they usually do not come back for a while so I still pull them from the Accord or Ranger :(
___Took the Ranger out for a run to the bank @ 52.7, the store @ 43.3 and than back home @ 51.2. 48.7 over 9.0 miles for the day
___Good Luck
___Wayne
Skwyre7 11-13-2007, 04:31 PM My SG is here. I filled up today so I could get a good start with the new SG in place. 42.x MPG from work to the gas station. The past few tanks, I've filled up every three weeks. I was two days early on this tank. :( The result was a low 37 MPG. I'll have to look back at my trip logs to see if there was anything different about this tank. I do recall a lot of the numbers begin lower than the previous tank. IIRC, the lower numbers started right at the last fill-up. Darn that winter blend.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-13-2007, 04:50 PM Ken, it should be back soon!
Go, Larry!!! :woot:
Wayne Wayne Wayne. Those 50+mpg segments couldn't have been over more than about 3mi!!!
I told Laurie before I left that I was going to try to take advantage of the tailwind and see if I could pop it over 60mpg sometime during the drive home as I've never managed that before, but traffic was not willing. I did get it up to 58.9mpg as I came up to the smog concentration that is Anoka... and promptly had a nice chunk of that taken away. No PR for me!! :p
55F, 15mph wind from the SSW, overcast:
56.7mpg for 22.1mi (Work to home)
The tank continues to rise! It is now at 51.4mpg over 480.8mi with 6.7g left and the guess gauge shows the needle just a hair north of the center of that 1/2 mark.
Comparing to my numbers on 10/16-17 the ScanGauge appears to be very close to correctly calibrated -- if not dead on. We'll find out when I have to fill up!!
diamondlarry 11-13-2007, 05:45 PM I didn't quite make 90 but I think I'll be satisfied with my results.:)
1. 79.0-5.8
2. 84.2-9.6
3. 84.3-9.6
4. 101-6.3
5. 100-4.9
6. 80.4-4.8
Average for today was 86.8 and the tank is up to 70.4 after 252.6 miles.
MnFocus 11-13-2007, 07:16 PM Just "satisfied" ,Larry? LOL Great job !!!
laurieaw 11-13-2007, 07:56 PM this is SO not fair!!! i ran into a strong headwind all the way to work this morning. when i went to lunch the big flag at perkins was still standing straight out from the pole in the same direction........
looked at my office window about 4:30, and the weeds in the field were finally still after being blown over all day. hmmm, no tail wind, but at least a quiet drive.
WRONG! by the time i got out, the wind had done a complete 180 since this morning and was blowing stronger than it was then. and i was going straight into it.......sigh......:(
62.8.
JimboK 11-14-2007, 06:38 AM A pretty decent ride in this morning, considering no block heater: 70 MPG, 50F.
Thinking out loud: Wonder if I can maintain an average tank MPG north of 60 through the winter months?? Seems like a worthy goal to aim for.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-14-2007, 06:45 AM Congrats, Larry! Way to show 'em who's boss. ;)
I'm sorry, Laurie. :( You still kept it over 60mpg though!!
I'd go for it, Jim!!
I forgot to plug in the EBH last night. :o The heavy wind helped on some segments but if I'd had the car properly warmed my final number probably would have been in the 55mpg neighborhood. :p
40F, 20mph wind from the W, overcast:
52.8mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
Rounding is showing its odd effects here. The tank average dropped to 51.3mpg over 503.4mi with 6.2g left and the guess gauge shows 1 needle width under the 1/2 mark. I guess from this I can conclude that the tank average isn't computed from a hidden 1/100ths position?
Regardless, I'm still over 51mpg for the tank and I crested 500mi on barely more than the 1/2 tank mark! :D
Chuck 11-14-2007, 07:39 AM This morning started out like it would be 95-100mpg - in fact was over 100....then traffic. :( Not just one bottleneck over nothing, but a major one that was miles long. Got to work at 80mpg (read: 20% hit).
Blake 11-14-2007, 08:23 AM SUCCESS!!
I got to work this morning and one of my coworkers that I've been talking to in depth about hypermiling, saving money on gas, and reducing our carbon footprint purchased a used honda civic to make his commute to work. He drives around 80 miles to work (one way) and was driving a Chevy 2500 pickup. He thanked me over and over again for convincing him to guy it as he said he's already noticed a huge difference in the limited time he's owned it (3 days).
This had more effect than I realized as the other guys are considering doing the same thing now!! :Banane42:
I makes me feel all warmy and fuzzy to see such changes, even from the most die hard redneck folks I work with!!
PaleMelanesian 11-14-2007, 08:29 AM I thought yesterday had good conditions... ;)
83F, 11.2 miles home = 65.1 mpg!
69F this morning = 66.9 mpg! PR! :woot:
Tank's up to 54.4 and 360 miles.
laurieaw 11-14-2007, 08:31 AM SUCCESS!!

fantastic!!! suppose he'd like to visit here?
good job in helping someone see the light :woot:
laurieaw 11-14-2007, 08:32 AM i didn't think it could get any windier, but it did. woke me up at 5am shaking the house. i get a little concerned, since there is a huge tree right over my bedroom, with lots of dead branches........
it was partly tail wind, partly cross wind, depending on which segment i was on. i was pushed, but i'll take it.
71.5.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-14-2007, 08:47 AM Wonderful news, Caryfd227!! One person at a time, right? :D
Andrew and Laurie??? Geez, guys!! I'm starting to feel like a slacker here!!!
Skwyre7 11-14-2007, 08:48 AM 41.1 MPG today with a couple of alternate routes. I'm using my new SG, so the calibration isn't set yet. But I'm starting with a fresh tank (minus 1.5 miles and 0.1 gallons used to get home from the gas station).
PaleMelanesian 11-14-2007, 08:51 AM Au contraire, Sean. You're pushing me. I can't let you beat my numbers, with a lower EPA car and cooler temps! :D
... and your current tank is 76% above EPA, compared to my 53% above.
JimboK 11-14-2007, 08:56 AM He drives around 80 miles to work (one way) and was driving a Chevy 2500 pickup. !
That's quite the feat -- getting a North Carolina firefighter to shun his pickup for a Civic. Doubt that would ever happen around here, especially as deer season approaches. ;) Congrats!
johnf514 11-14-2007, 09:16 AM This tank is on it's last legs - 43.1 MPG, 540 miles, LFL has been on since 490 miles. Plan to fill up tomorrow morning after adding another 25 miles on it. Yikes, this will be close. ;)

ROTFL!! So just about two hours ago one of his buddy's came over to show him a deer he got yesterday... Drove over an hour just to show him it. His friend said "where's your truck?" and he pointed at the civic. His buddy then started to mock his unmanly car when he piped up and said... well yeah, but I used two gallons of gas to get to work, how many did you use getting here to show me this deer when you could have just sent me a picture of it in email...
I was jumping for joy inside :D
I just got done talking to the rookie at our station about fuel efficent cars... he's looking at a yaris now to help save on gas. Ahhhh, after dealing with the snide comments and ridicule they are finally starting to see the light. Its funny how me being the computer nerd of the department I usually get two to three calls a day for computer help, now I'm getting more calls about fuel mileage. Man this is making me feel all good inside. I've even got the recycling now. Never underestimate the power of peer pressure ;)

I'm convinced that getting drivers to go efficient is overwhelmingly cultural, with a potential dam breaching effect. Driving an efficient car efficiently is the rational person response. Unfortunately, it is up against some tough "cultural/emotional" competition (gotta go fast, gotta be big, gotta be manly, whatever). Once these cultural barriers are overcome, then the masses will of course flock to efficiency. Not only is it a public good, it's a private good as well. And to top it all off, everybody's doing it. Wait up for me!
By the way, I got 145mpg to work today. Holy Crapola!!!! How the heck did that happen? I spent all summer working to get up to 140, and then on a random fall day I hit 145.
There are a number of reasons.
(1) It's a freakishly hot 90F today
(2) I went in at noon, after lunch
(3) Traffic and lights were oddly cooperative (like rush hour)
(4) I had high SOC at the start
(5) I shut down just 15 minutes before leaving, and went straight from S1 to S4.
So it is a 145 with an asterisk (*). The 140 cold (EBH) start still stands. But we have a new "hot start" record.
And somehow, this 145 happens just weeks shy of Thanksgiving. Go figure. Cold front on the way tomorrow. Didn't have my camera. Why would I? It's November. :)
mparrish 11-14-2007, 02:29 PM Oh yeah, file this under "fun".
My wife's best friend lives just off of an unimpeded 0.7 mile residential loop in Austin, just miles from where I live. It has a smooth drop and then rise of 30 feet. The result is a non-stop slingshot effect. I've noticed that I can glide from 25 up to 30 down to 15, and then pulse back up to 25 all at around ~160mpg. I think I could pull off a 2000 mile tank driving this loop, if I could send all those residents to Hawaii for a long weekend and fight off sleep deprivation for 80 hours. :) Dan, I might need your help. :)

Thanks Laurie. Done and done. :)
FYI for anyone relatively new. My commute to work is downhill. A great summer day will yield 130 in / 70 out / ~90RT. My 145 is probably just north of 100mpg on the flats.
Dan - When I get some time this week, I'm gonna email the local Austin station with a link to your video and say "lookie what Big Oil H-town did....hint, hint". ;) Every day is a good day for fishin'.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-14-2007, 04:40 PM What a moment to savor, Caryfd227!! :D
Marc, what the...??? :woot:
Guys, I tried. I gave it everything I had. No 50's for me. The highest I saw was a 49.9mpg readout right before hitting downtown-double-hockey-sticks territory. :ccry:
37F (23F windchill!!!), 23mph (head)wind from the WNW, overcast:
49.2mpg for 22.1mi (Work to home)
The tank remains at 51.3mpg over 525.7mi with 5.8g left and the guess gauge shows 2 needle widths under the 1/2 mark.
I got a little lucky with a few of the lights in Anoka, else the final number would have been lower yet. :ccry:
That 49.9mpg was the result of one of those, "Nope, I'm not going to fire up for that traffic behind me because I'm close enough to the stop light." followed by 3 cars passing me, followed by a perfect brakeless glide to a stop 2.5' behind the car stopped in front of me.
I am NOT looking forward to my drives to and from Church tonight for Choir practice. Those are going to majorly $#(% with this weather.
diamondlarry 11-14-2007, 04:51 PM Sean, I would say that, considering the conditions, you did VERY well.
So far today, I'm at 80.2 and I have the usual 4 Wednesday 5.2 mile segments when I take my daughter to Youth Group. The return trip of those segments is usually good for 100+ so I think I should be able to hold onto 80 for the day. I had one segment today that was at 124 mpg.:woot:
diamondlarry 11-14-2007, 07:32 PM I'm finally done for the day. The temp started out at 54F this morning, got to a high of 62F, and is now at 48F.
1. 74.6-5.8(home to wife's work)
2. 78.9-9.6(wife's work to my work)
3. 42.7-1.2(my work to my mom's)
4. 85.0-8.9(mom's to wife's work)
5. 79.0-7.7(wife's work to grocery store)
6. 76.9-12.2(grocery store to mom's)
7. 124-5.1(mom's to home)
8. 71.3-5.2(home to take daughter to Youth group)
9. 105-5.2(Youth group to home)
10. 73.5-5.2(home to pick daughter up)
11. 108-5.2(Youth group to home)
Average for today was 81.9 and the tank is at 71.7 after 324.8 miles.
brick 11-14-2007, 08:14 PM It's been a beautiful week in these parts. Morning temps have been mild and the afternoons warm, with much less traffic than normal for some reason. And, there's something magically better about the route that I started on Monday. It starts with a shallow and very slow ascent out of the subdivision that seems to load the engine just right to get things warm. Then, right as it's ready to hit S3, **BAM**. Miles and miles of perfect rolling hills and 40mph speed limits, and lights that are easy to time. :D I still have that stupid 4-mile, 55mph, high-traffic road at the end but at least I get a better start. I'm holding on to 65.2mpg at 220mi.
Of course, the tragedy in all this is that the tank will be cut short when I fill up and head for the interstate on Saturday. The week-long vacation will do no good for my LMPG. :( Plenty of good for me, though...I need to get away from the office for a while! I'll be happy if I can maintain anything in the 50s.
MnFocus 11-14-2007, 08:36 PM Been pretty decent here -until early this a.m. ...cold...wind ...flakes? besides me LOL
just some short hoppers for me
24.2/1.4 mi - dead cold ! that high idle speed is a killer 2400rpms!???- I can cruise at 70+ mph at those rpms .
38.4/3.2 mi -finally started to warm up ,then parked for an hour
31.1/3.0 mi - and this happens
45.7/2.6 mi - thats better
45.0/3.4 mi - still happy
40.6/263 mi overall with 263.3 on odo.
desdemona 11-14-2007, 09:03 PM Sean, one of my new pet peeves, being near a stop light and everyone is so hot to trot that they don't see how they don't actually have to stop at it! Though at least once a day--ok once a week, I think I am followed by someone who appears to understand what I am doing and follows slowly. I am so happy when that happens.
BTW, speaking of stoplights-- I got a third no stopping at stop lights except 2 rights on red going to work.
No great gains in mpg but some might be due to the fact that it is colder.

laurieaw 11-14-2007, 09:37 PM good grief. when did minnesota become the wind capital of the US? it was brutal, right in my face about 30mpg, and 32 degrees. can you say wind chill? my great long coast in which i can usually get up to 60MPH in neutral? i couldn't even get to 50, like swimming in jello. if i averaged 45MPH all the way home, i will be surprised.
61.3.
Right Lane Cruiser 11-14-2007, 10:40 PM Well done, Larry!!! :Banane57:
I sure am glad you are there to make up for my shortcomings...
Tim -- think happy thoughts!! ;)
Rick... EBH.... EBH....... EeeeeBeeeeeH!!!!
Laurie, see my comment to Larry -- you qualify, too.
As for jello? Try jello with 4 flat tires. :ccry: I did okay on the way in with a bit of help from the wind but none from the traffic really. I had some hope for the way back but I forgot that this route is completely exposed to EVERYTHING. My work route may be a little convoluted but at least it offers some protection from the wind along most of it. This one has NONE. Nada. ZIPPO!!! Of course I had to be driving directly into it the entire way home.
I used everything I know (and some stuff I don't :o) but it was no use.
36F (24F windchill), 23mph wind from the W, overcast:
50.0mpg for 17.1mi (Home to Church)
45.6mpg for 17.3mi (Church to home :ccry::ccry:)
The tank has dropped back to 51.2mpg over 559.9mi with 5.1g left and the guess gauge indicates 3/8ths.
Today's average is a miserable 49.4mpg. :p
desdemona 11-14-2007, 11:26 PM Well done, Larry!!! :Banane57:
Today's average is a miserable 49.4mpg. :p
Oh, some of us would kill (well not REALLY) kill for 49.4!!!

SlowHands 11-15-2007, 06:50 AM Wind, cold temps, traffic, nitwits and ill-timed lights have been wreaking havoc on my driving, and gosh I really miss my ScanGuage! Had to fill up last night... it was horrible, bad enough that I was very tempted to fib and inflate the numbers to something in my 'average' range... cuz its going to pull down my average  Fill up was 31.66 pulling the average down .2
But on the the good side, last night on my way to my brother's house to pick up a gallon of raw milk, I had the pleasure of being behind an F-150 Ford doing about 50 mph and DWL :D on Route 355 (a tollway that most people do 75mph on with posted 55 mph).
Right Lane Cruiser 11-15-2007, 06:52 AM Oh, some of us would kill (well not REALLY) kill for 49.4!!!

Okay, so I'm being a bit silly. :o I'm just so fixated on making every day a 50+mpg day...
Ken, at least you don't have 5yrs of data to pull up! ;)
That blasted wind is still here. I had it at my back for most of the drive so I took advantage of it as much as I could. Some of the lights on my route are becoming more difficult to deal with due to unpredictable cross traffic patterns...
34F (23F windchill), 17mph (tail)wind from the NW, overcast:
54.8mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
The tank is back up to 51.3mpg over 582.6mi with 4.7g left and the guess gauge is indicating 1 needle width under 3/8ths.
It seems there is actually a 1/100ths place in the SG's calculations as dividing the above gives me 4.64g left or 11.36g used. Soooo, the calculations are correct but the displayed usage number isn't rounded -- just truncated? Since the gallons left don't match I'm supposing that my tank average is actually rounded up. This is confusing -- I wish this thing was consistent in conventions for number display. The best I can do is guess at it...
Chuck 11-15-2007, 07:23 AM 89.5mpg at 45F this morning...it's harder in cool weather, but could have gotten that last 0.5mpg.
PaleMelanesian 11-15-2007, 08:03 AM Yep. the weather changed overnight. 46 degrees this morning.
65.5 home last night - warm weather
60.0 to work this am - cold
tank up to 54.8 / 382 miles
laurieaw 11-15-2007, 08:20 AM 31 degrees this morning, but at least no wind. i filled up and was disappointed that it only came up to 59.7. strange with the numbers i have seen on my gauge. pulled into the lot at work today and it read 73MPG........
on edit: i just looked back to last year at this time, and i guess i shouldn't complain. at the same time last year my fills were high 40s to low 50s. progress in action. :)
johnf514 11-15-2007, 10:37 AM Filled up today! 565 miles on 13.5 gallons is good for 41.8 MPG. Paid $3.099 to fill up.
diamondlarry 11-15-2007, 02:31 PM The weather turned downright evil for FE this afternoon.:Banane18: Temps in the upper 30'sF with winds from the NW at 5-15 mph with gusts to ~24 mph.
1. 72.8 5.8
2. 76.4-9.6
3. 64.1-9.6
4. 87.5-6.3
Average for today was 73.3 and the tank is at 71.6 after 356.5 miles. Only 5 more months to good weather again.;)
mparrish 11-15-2007, 02:49 PM 105 to work. What? After my 145 yesterday? Oh yeah. it's 30 degrees cooler today. :)
One bad thing about a lopsided (elevation change) commute? It's hard to keep her above 155F in stage 4. I've got these ridiculous 3-5 minute glides, and the next thing I know I'm back in 3a. This is of course not a problem going back uphill. ;)
Tank is just north of 72 after 250 miles.
Skwyre7 11-15-2007, 03:32 PM Let me start out by saying that I'm really enjoying my new SG. I never knew how much I would enjoy seeing the trip MPG at the same time as everything else.
42.7 MPG this morning with rainy, but warm (60ºF) weather.
I have been tracking every trip since Labor Day. I note distance, gallons used, mileage, and time, as well as start and end places. I have three complete tanks worth of data, and a little bit from the first tank. I plotted a control chart, separated by tank. Take note of the green line (mean). It keeps going up and up, until this past tank.
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l23/Skwyre7/GasMileageControlChart.jpg
After some sorting, here is the same chart, but with my normal morning commutes only. Again, take note of the mean. Tanks 2 and 3 were about the same. (I am not happy with tank 4. Obviously.)
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l23/Skwyre7/GasMileageControlChart-Morning.jpg
I'll continue to track this information. If I wanted, I could see how many trips I have made to the grocery store on my way home from work. I might need that info one day. ;)
Right Lane Cruiser 11-15-2007, 04:51 PM Nice work, Andrew!! :D
That's kinda strange, Laurie.
Go John!!! :woot:
Lookin' good, Larry! 70+mpg in this weather is hardcore man.
Marc, keepin' it up, I see! I wish I could take a ride in your car with you driving that route.
Michael, that's some nice trending work. Do you think it is just the temperatures hitting this last tank, or the winter blend? If it is the blend I may have some not so nice surprises in store for my next tank...
That wind is still there, but much weaker than yesterday. I don't know where all this extra traffic is coming from but I really don't appreciate it very much. :( Getting through Anoka cost me 1.9mpg today...
37F (31F windchill), 9mph wind from the W, scattered clouds (can you tell I'm reading from Weather Underground :D):
52.9mpg for 22.1mi (Work to home)The tank is holding steady at 51.3mpg over 604.9mi with 4.2g left and the guess gauge is showing 2 needle widths under 3/8ths.
JimboK 11-15-2007, 07:03 PM Wow, love those charts, Michael!
Cross-town commute to the part time job today. From the new house of course. Actually, not so much cross town anymore. It's about half the distance as from the old place, a little less than 14 miles one way. Won't help the MPG numbers; it's all through suburbia and urbia (is that a word?), but of course overall fuel consumption will be reduced. Not too bad this morning, despite rush hour and frequent showers and wind: 70 MPG. Turned cooler this evening after the front passed through, and the ride home (temps in the 40s) saw 64 MPG. Tonight I had several instances of the EV button misfiring so I was often either gliding with the ICE on or pushing hard with the battery, doing both unwittingly and unnecessarily.
MnFocus 11-15-2007, 08:52 PM Rick... EBH.... EBH....... EeeeeBeeeeeH!!!!
yeah yeah T'ja! I know I know...everytime I open the window and draw back someone is out there ! :( If I had more confidence in my archery abilities in the dark I would have EBH in spades! :p Bet y'all thought I was kiddin about the "Extension arrow" didn't ya ? ;)
I was on foot today so can't help ya out with the Jello /flats but a few more degrees cooler and it should be solid enough for hypermilin !
laurieaw 11-15-2007, 10:28 PM got home late, and the wind was gone. the drive was pretty quiet.
65.1
Right Lane Cruiser 11-16-2007, 06:42 AM Jim, hopefully things go a bit more smoothly for you today!
I hear you, Rick. I've got one word for you. "Spotlight." ;)
Isn't it nice when things go just right, Laurie? :flag:
I forgot to plug in my EBH AGAIN. :(:p
36F (28F windchill), 10mpg (head)wind from the E, overcast:
50.8mpg for 22.5mi (Home to work)The tank is still at 51.3mpg over 627.4mi with 3.8g left and the guess gauge is showing 2 needle widths over 1/4.
I REALLY need to get myself a timer. Since I stopped plugging in the EBH as soon as I got home I keep forgetting to go out and do it right before I go to bed. :(
laurieaw 11-16-2007, 07:43 AM note to sean: PLUG IN HEATER!!! send yourself an email, i do that all the time. or put a note on the door you use to go into the house.
33 degrees with a little wind. i was distracted and didn't feel like i was on my game at all, but still managed 64.5 to work.
Chuck2 11-16-2007, 07:51 AM 85mpg at 42F this morning
PaleMelanesian 11-16-2007, 08:06 AM 58F, 54.8 mpg home
 33F this morning. I had to scrape frost for the first time this year.
I worked it and just barely scraped in with 50.1. Water temp 179 - almost warmed up by the end there!
Sean, you beat me this time! Even without your heater!
Right Lane Cruiser 11-16-2007, 08:29 AM Laurie, I think I'll put something on the medicine cabinet -- that way I'll see it when I got to take out my contacts right before bed. Thanks for the tip!
How the heck do you bust out a 64+mpg segment when you are distracted?!
Keep up the hard work, Chuck! Cold weather has a way of unearthing weak points in technique, I think...
Andrew, that may be so but don't you have a route that is something like half of mine?? I'll take the small victory, though. ;) :D
Well, I've been driving the Paseo the whole week until today because I'm picking up some extra hours at my previous employer because they're short handed. However, today I was able to carpool in with the wife to work. SG showed 39.7 and I'm sure its nowhere near close to where it really is. I have doubts I'll ever get it remotly close to being dialed in. If I continue to drive the Paseo more than the Matrix I'll just switch it over to that car. At least in it I'm getting consistant mileage. I think its just the huge difference between the way I drive and the way my wife drives it. In any case, 39.7 is the baseline for future runs should I leave it in the Matrix. Temp was 26° when I left home and I didn't see what it was when I got to work. I hope to see some good numbers this weekend as I travel up to Green Bay for the Packer's game this weekend.
ericbecky 11-16-2007, 08:58 AM 79.9 coming in to work today.
Time for a fillup tonight.
PaleMelanesian 11-16-2007, 09:00 AM Yep, Sean. It's 11.2 miles, so right at 1/2 yours. I have another route that's 10.5 miles, but they use the exact same amount of gas, so I use the longer/ higher numbers one. ;)
johnf514 11-16-2007, 09:36 AM New tank, great mileage. 60 miles in, 44.7 MPG on the display.
diamondlarry 11-16-2007, 10:04 AM A pretty decent start to the day here so far considering that the temps haven't topped 40F yet.:(
1. 76.2-5.8(Home to wife's work-I remembered to plug in my EBH:D)
2. 77.9-9.6(wife's work to my work)
3. 94.5-6.0(my work to home since I had inventory and got out early:)but the car sat for 5 hours getting really cold:()
Average so far is 81.4 mpg. More segments to come later.
Skwyre7 11-16-2007, 10:51 AM 40.2 MPG at 39ºF this morning.
37.5 (?) MPG to the baby doctor - we've been given the green light for travel next week.
44.1 MPG back to work from the doctor! :D
diamondlarry 11-16-2007, 02:31 PM Ok, I'm done driving for the day, finally. I made my goal for the day even though the official high was only 41F here and the winds were very light. The rest of the numbers:
4. 82.7-6.3(home to wife's work)
5. 87.1-6.3(wife's work to home)
Average for the day was 80.0. WHEW!! I drove an extra 75' on the battery to push it over.:D The tank is at 72.0 after 390.9 miles with 5 pips left on the infamous Prius "Guess Gauge.":D
Sledge 11-16-2007, 03:29 PM I got my first post-summer lousy tank: 49.8. Like a male cow who has swallowed a grenade, it's abominable :D
I haven't had a sub-50 tank since late March.
Whee... another drive by... I should get more disciplined on my posts.
Anyway. Got a lifetime high score on my drive back from lunch Tuesday.
114 MPG
The route was from my house (elev 190.02) to the second level of the garage at work (elev 136.66). A net drop in elevation of 54.36 ft.
Pictures:
Castle of the trip.

Scan Gauge showing 114
http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/data/500/sg11-14-07.jpg
The changes were highway. I didn't use it. I also kept the engine heating via the EBH over lunch. Also didn't have the kids with me.
So I've hit 100 on the way home (climbing 50ft) and I've hit 100 on the way to work (dropping 50ft), so it is theoretically possible for me to have a 100 MPG RT on my daily commute.
One day.... yes it shall happen.
11011011
PS.. check my sig (hint hint).
Right Lane Cruiser 11-16-2007, 04:51 PM Daox, if the Paseo is pretty much your daily driver I'd watch that one. It is the skills acquisition that matters and it will help to see progress compounding as you work on it. That's my vote anyway.
John, that's a great start!!
Michael, I'm glad to hear the baby is doing well. :)
Awesome work, Larry!!! :woot:
Sledge, don't give up. ;)
Impressive, Dan! You are officially the high score of the (so far) day!! :smilingface (52):
I didn't shoot off to the shoulder today because the weather was favorable. I'm sure I lost some mileage to the speed, but I still hit 55.9mpg as I rolled to a stop at the light. Then Anoka robbed me again.
43F (38F windchill), 9mph wind from the ENE, clear:
53.5mpg for 22.0miThe tank is still at 51.3mpg over 649.6mi with 3.4g left and the guess gauge is showing 1 needle width over 1/4.
As long as the weather holds I'll make it through the weekend easily, I think. I may just go ahead and fill up after Church on Sunday though so that I can avoid the mess that is Thanksgiving. Comparing to my last tank the gallons left appears to be about 0.5 off at this point (as in, lower than it should be for the 1 needle over 1/4), but the miles are considerably higher.
ILAveo 11-16-2007, 06:11 PM On Thursday driving to work I had a driver of a red Ford Exploder pass me honking and gesturing because I was driving the speed limit on I74. Didn't bother me much, but I thought the usual sarcastic stuff about where he must work etc. About ten minutes/7 miles later he was about four car lengths ahead of me when he turned into his work place ...you guessed it...the BP/Amoco Barge/Pipeline terminal.
Anyhow, just filled up the tank on my Ranger 508.1mi/12.865 gal for 39.5 Mpg. After looking at Wayne's recent numbers I was inspired to put more air in the tires too.
98CRV 11-16-2007, 06:54 PM I got 30.34 for the part of the tank that I used this week. I am pleased with that. Unlike last week, I did not exceed 55 mph with the ICE on. My SGii is on its way.
MnFocus 11-16-2007, 07:03 PM Chillllly this a.m. but turned into an Imaculate day!
Lost my 1st mpg of the a.m. (mid 30's I can vouche for though!)
xx/2.0 mi
46.5/1.4 mi
38.2/1.1 mi
57.5/3.3 mi
39.3/4.2 mi
all the other numbers were called off on account of nice weather ! Went walking without writing anything else down .
I signed up at a temp service this a.m. and had to do some running around . A person just has to eat! I'm at a whopping 1-60 on resume replies ...it was a "no".
Right Lane Cruiser 11-16-2007, 09:28 PM I'm sorry, Rick!! I hope you can find something quickly. Stay positive and try to keep yourself involved with other people, okay? The worst thing you can do is isolate yourself right now.
MnFocus 11-16-2007, 10:27 PM Thanks Sean ! Not too worried really , the temp service has work and actually decent pay with full medical bene's. Best part about it there - I can work *when and IF* I want ! Almost like being the boss (without the big CEO salary LOL )
laurieaw 11-16-2007, 10:56 PM not sure what was going on, but i was off my game again. gauge was down as far as 59.6 when i first left the barn after my ride, but somehow i managed to get it back up to 62.4 when i wheeled into the garage.
It was a busy night last night, but I pulled in a 40.0 on the dot with the Matrix on the way home. We'll have to wait and see how much I end up working and thus need to drive the Paseo.
JimboK 11-17-2007, 10:09 AM Commute to the part time site today with temps in the 30s. Despite the weather and no EBH pre-warming, I still managed 71 MPG. To this site from the new house it seems like I'll have a larger difference between weekday and weekend results. The drive is mainly urban -- much less traffic and more green lights on Saturdays.
MnFocus 11-17-2007, 10:41 AM This a.m.'s grind
32.4/2.7 mi to store
47.0/3.4 mi to home
45.5/.9 to BP
285.5/7.434g fill =38.4 mpg 85%city 3.5mi trips and *cold* 39° avg (op temps rarely made it over 180° with 150's being the norm)
38.0/1.5 mi to home (1.6 odo)
diamondlarry 11-17-2007, 01:03 PM Today went quite well considering the conditions I had to work with. The temp never got above 45F according to the FCD and the last segment had a little light rain thrown in to make it exciting. At least the wind was basically nonexistent.:)
I went to a local supermarket where the local Christian radio station was doing a live remote broadcast. During one of the breaks, I took the morning show DJ out and let him drive the car for a little bit. Because of the excitement of what transpired, I forgot to record the segment info; more on that in a bit. He is a tall guy and he barely fit behind the wheel. He also has a very heavy foot.:( Thank goodness he only drove a mile or so total. I had driven a total of 13.7 miles before I got there and had the average up to 79.4 for the day and it was down to 71.1 by the time we were done. As you will see below, I recovered quite nicely.:D
Now, for the exciting part. He has agreed to let me come on his morning show on Thursday December 27th during the 7:00am(EDT) hour. You could listen along at www.wfrn.com. He mentioned that we may take him or his co-host out and do an on-the-road report on the benefits of hybrids and hypermiling. I need to map out a course that's fairly short and something that can generate a nice mpg number. This station has a potential listener audience of ~900K. Sounds like a cool time.
Edit: OOPS!:o I forgot the numbers.
1. 74.9-7.0(home to bank)
2. 85.6-6.7(bank to supermarket)
3. This is where I forgot to record the info.
4. 103-16.9(supermarket to Walmart)
5. 90.0-9.8(Walmart to home)
Average for today was 86.4 and the tank is at 72.9 after 433.2 miles.
I'm going back to Vista 32-bit so I may be away for awhile.
Thats awesome Larry! :bananalama:
laurieaw 11-17-2007, 05:51 PM wow, great news, larry.
i only went to the grocery store today, but before i left while i still had a warm engine from the heater, i put on the grill block, like msantos has done, with pipe insulation. seems to fit just fine, the only problem was trying to do up the wire ties with bare hands. it was COLD. i finally pulled out a little plyers to hold the end and pull it through the lock. let's see if it helps.
it was about 32 with a headwind, and the store is 10 miles away. i got 64.3 there and it dropped to 62.4 on the way home. i think there's more uphill that way, plus the car was cold after i had been in the store.
it was acting a little funny, for a while i didn't think it was going to show any charging, even when i was decelerating with brakes.....finally did, but it seemed strange. could there have been any effect from the block?
tomorrow sounds lousy.......chance of snow/rain with winds up to 25 again. sigh. why do i live here?
JimboK 11-17-2007, 06:18 PM A very good afternoon ride from work to my fiancee's house, with two stops along the way: 78 MPG.
Blake 11-17-2007, 06:49 PM Intresting breakthrough tonight....
I was driving home from my parents house and I decided to try something. The little shift light always comes up what I thought was WAAAAY to soon for the car to be able to actually maintain speed.
I've even played around with it and it would always seem like I would achive the same fuel mileage leaving it in 4th gear as I would putting it in 5th.
Not sure why my car has been acting that way (most likely its an issue with the driver not the car ;) )
So I decided to just acelerate at a decent rate up to the posted speed limit and just put in 5th and see what happens on the trek uphill back home. For the past couple weeks it was a struggle to maintain even 40mph and keep the FE at a decent rate. In 5th however tonight the insight was driving like a champ. I was able to maintain over 125mpg on the same road I normally travel and had no issues keeping my speed at 45mph.
Why the sudden change? I know that the higher gear should usually get higher FE, but shouldn't the lower gear be able to keep the speed up easier? Just strange...
Anyway...
My typical average from my parents house to mine... 80's
Average tonight... 136mpg
The distance is 11.6 miles
diamondlarry 11-18-2007, 10:44 AM Cold weather(<40F) and short trips= Bad FE.
1. 67.9-5.2
2. 34.5-1.3
3. 85.6-6.4
Average for today was 67.8 and the tank is at 85.8 after 6.4 miles.
Hi All:
___Drive the Ranger into some terrible holiday shopping traffic and got nailed at all 5 lights for my 1.9 miles to church this morning. Just 29.7. Took a slight alternate back home and still got killed with 6 of 8 lights. 43.9 home. Forget about this shopping traffic nightmare around my home, I am not going anywhere over the next few days!
___Good Luck

Right Lane Cruiser 11-18-2007, 01:00 PM Laurie, off your game and still pulling low 60's. Man.
Daox, nice! I can't wait to hear regular numbers from that Paseo. ;)
Jim, that's great for those temps!!!
Larry, awesome news about the interview! That's a great way to spread the word. :D Too bad about the temps today. :p
Blake, could it have to do with the torque range? I love "light bulb moments" like that!!! :Banane29:
Wayne, I don't blame you. I hate driving this time of year because everyone is so focussed on getting shopping done that traffic snarls and the prevalence of driving faux pas is enough to drive ANY sane driver to the brink. Hypermiling that stuff is worse still. :(
My normal route seemed pretty friendly this morning/afternoon. I even had another run at that elusive 60 on the way back!! Wayne, I had three pull offs this time -- the third was that one you had me do when you were here and this time I executed it perfectly. :D I rolled up to the light just as it was changing, bump started and took off. :flag:
34F down and 36F back (25F and 28F windchills respectively), 13mph wind from the SE, overcast:
47.8mpg for 16.9mi (Home to Church)
58.1mpg for 17.1mi (Church to home :D)The tank is up another tick to 51.4mpg over 683.7mi with 2.7g left and the guess gauge is showing 2 needle widths over 1/8th.
Keep on rollin'... ;)
locutus 11-18-2007, 04:05 PM Coldish, 1 week of not driving, and starting from 51% SOC (4 bars). Oh, those were supposed to be bad things? ;)
tMPG / dist / temp / nSOC
73.1 / 4.6 miles / 39F / +4.0%
42.1 / 1.4 miles / 48F / -0.5% - pulling out every trick I know, just too short :(
89.8 / 7.0 miles / 45F / +2.5%
69.9 / 5.2 miles / 45F / -2.0%
73.2 / 18.2 miles for the day.
The tank's at 74.8 / 571 miles / 2 pips.
laurieaw 11-18-2007, 04:09 PM yuk yuk yuk, snow flurries, 34 degrees, 15MPH cross wind. went to the barn any how, and it showed 68.1MPG for the 43.6 miles there. then took myself out for lunch, though i did avoid the busy part of town. ended up at 67.7MPG for 93.8 miles overall. it was cold :(
Blake 11-18-2007, 09:50 PM Ok, so I went back and updated all my tanks with the correct average temperatures from that posted website and I got thinking about my current tank...
I think my fuel gauge might be a bit wonky. Either that or I had signifigantly more fuel in my last tank than I thought when I filled up. I put ~10.2 gallons in and I got just over 700 miles on that tank.
This tank I'm sitting at roughly 650 miles and the fuel gauge is showing a bit over 1/4... how can that be right? At this rate I'll easily hit 800 miles on this tank and maybe if I pull out all the stops I might hit 900. If this is right I'll be really excited. My tank average is sitting almost at 80 (I'd go read it but its outside in the station parking lot and its cold... ie I'm lazy ;) )
Does a 900 mile tank still count if I filled more than the "rated" capacity of the tank :D
kngkeith 11-19-2007, 08:33 AM Finally got my scangauge in the Highlander. Still will check calibration over next couple weeks but showed 27.02 mpg for 84 miles, mostly rural. 2 rt's to church, 27 degrees first start, 44 degree max temp, strong headwind on first return trip. More significant: my wife had serious questions for me and the techniques as we watched the scangauge- was quite interested. Then last night she mentioned that it might be wise for us to trade it in on a Prius.
Keith
Business has been slow. I haven't put more than 750 miles on the semi since joining- can't report fuel mileage yet.
Hi Keith:
___God Bless both you and your wife no matter your religious or political leanings. Thank you from all of us here for hanging in long enough to see the initial results with a lifetime of savings to come.
___Good Luck
___Wayne
kngkeith 11-19-2007, 07:38 PM Thanks Wayne.
BTW- if you are still interested, and have the time, I will be in Chicago tomorrow- several deliveries in the area.
Keith
