I decided today was time to change the transmission fluid in the insight and after I drained the tranny and took the fill plug out I ran into a problem...

None of the 4! funnels I had would fit in the small/awkward area available to fill it back up. I started thinking and went into the house and got a turkey baster :D

I cut the tip of it off a little bit to make the end a little larger to let the fluid flow a bit faster and then cut a hole the same size as the quart container of fluid in the rubber top of the baster.

That allowed me to plug the fluid container into the "funnel" so I could easily fill it back up.

Just thought you guys might like to know ;)

Curious... Why change the MTF on a 2006 Insight? Are you changing to a different type of fluid? If so, what's the rationale behind it?

I just check the honda service chart and it says to replace the MT fluid at 90k miles (which I'm not there yet). I guess I decided to change it because I don't know how the previous owner drove the car and its cheap insurance since I know when the fluid was changed and the condition and way the car was driven in. I didn't change fluid type (honda MT fluid)

I've always changed all fluids in a used car when I first get it... although I've had the insight for several months, I finally got around to changing the fluid because I finally got the larger crush washer needed for the top plug.
