I think she could be called the Mary Kay of Britain - Anita Roddick (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6988343.stm).

She campaigned for green issues for many years before it became fashionable to do so and inspired millions to the cause by bringing sustainable products to a mass market.

She will be remembered not only as a great campaigner but also as a great entrepreneur.

Dame Anita Roddick dies aged 64 (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6988343.stm) (BBC Story)

The Body Shop opposed animal testing and tried to encourage Third World development by purchasing materials from small communities in poorer countries. It founded a human rights award and invested in a wind farm in Wales as part of its campaign to promote renewable energy.
