Hi,
I inadvertently hit the trip meter on the car. I can't go by the SG either as I used on the Accord. So I have no record of my mpg. I thought I would top off my tank tomorrow with only maybe 50 miles on it.
Do I need to recalibrate the fuel on Scan gauge when I do this??
Woops I just realized I did not reset the tank back to 1.8 liters..... glad I thought of this.
No wonder my mpg was so poor tonight. I had it down to tiredness and the battery acting up.

I would NOT calibrate it. .1 gallon difference with that small a fill is a HUGE difference. You'll be more accurate keeping it as-is. I did a similar fill a while back, and it was a full 1/2 gallon more than expected! Over several tanks, a pattern is emerging, so I'm not worrying about that one anomoly.
Go ahead and top up! It'll give you more motivation, knowing the numbers in front of you are "accurate".

What I usually do is record my odometer mileage as well as my tank mileage whenever I fill up. That way I always have a fall-back if I accidentally reselt the trip meter mid-tank. (And I have!) I know that doesn't do you much good now but it might help you later.
And I agree with Andrew that recalibrating isn't a very good idea for a very short fill. May as well top-up and start over, though. That way you won't have it nagging you for the next 400mi. ;)

Same here. The odometer reading and gallons put in are the two most important pieces of data. All the important stuff is calculated from these two numbers.

Thanks all. I didn't remember how much I added anyway so its a good thing you all answered in the negative. :-)
I do record the mileage when I fill up (but not generally when I top off).
It is much more motivating to get the good nos. when you think it is counting. A few days with the Accord and this doesn't do much for my "mileage" figures ala SG (of course I would have the ones I had written down if I had not reset. So maybe it was all subconscious.
