I've never really introduced myself here so I thought I would now. First off I would like to say thankyou for all the great info this site and all of you here have to offer to anyone who is looking to improve their FE. I have been hanging around here for a few months now and have gained alot of good and very usefull information about my prius and how to extract the most from it. I started getting good FE right off the bat but with some breakin miles and learning the secrets of my car I get terrific mileage now.(at least I think so). I live here in "sunny" Oregon, we have lots of hills and lots of rain. I commute 41 miles each way 5 days a week, 20% is interstate, 10% in city and the rest is country backroads with lots of hills.I live in the exact middle of nowhere. I play disc golf just about every day so I drive around to different parks after work to play and then I still have to commute back home afterwards. My wife rides with me and I drop her off at her office on the way to mine then pick her up on the way home. We leave her jeep at her office for her around town errands during the week then bring it home on fridays for our other needs. I put about 700 miles a week on the prius. I do not have a scanguage or any other instramentation. My tires have "alot" of air in them and I use the a/c very sparingly. I am a very mobile person and very rarely sitting around doing nothing, and living so far out I am always in the car(to far out to ride a bike or I would). We used to drive the jeep back and forth but since getting the prius it actually costs us less even with the payment to drive now than before. Because of that my Mom has bought one and my wifes boss as well. Ok enough already, sorry this got so long. I do have one question though.........I am good with hills.... but....I have a 2 mile long very steep 55mph limit hill just before my house(2 miles up and 2 miles down). Does anyone have the magic formula to climb it with the best fe and not getting rearended by the 60mph folks? :Banane26:
