Hi All:

___Not just a welcome but given how many of our topics are linked to renewable energy and/or energy production, Chuck (aka - Delta_Flyer) thought a Renewable Energy Forum would be a great addition and I agreed. The purpose would be more non-automotive in nature but with PHEV’s and EV’s on the horizon, clean and renewable electrical energy production is going to be a larger part of our countries and the world’s energy production mix as time progresses.

___Non-Automotive - Environmental Discussion’s could include a number of items such as zero energy homes, windmill and micro-hydro electrical generation, residential and industrial solar power for heat or electricity production, etc.

___Let’s hope this forum provides an outlet for some of our members (myself included ;)) who feel clean energy production and use goes beyond just our day to day transportation needs.

Maybe it should be renamed to the Environmental forum or something like that since sometimes the most envronmentaly friendly choice we may have at a given time might not be renewable (like nuclear power) and clean coal plants.

The kind of topics I had in mind include (and NOT limited to...) residential alternative energy, more energy-efficient home appliances, alternative to traveling by car....
