Now that I am retired I have time to spend on my new hobby, my 08 Mercury Mariner Hybrid.
Right now I have three areas of interest:
1. Maximize MPG (stretch the pension as much as possible)
2. Maximize Engine Longevity (will it outlast me?)
3. Auto Detailing (keep my hobby looking new)

I thought this forum would be a good place to log part numbers for those items that
people put on their cars that increase gas mileage or engine longevity like oil filters,
air filters, etc. So far I have had a hard time finding part #'s for the 08 MMH. I think
it's just because the vehicle is so new.

Anyway, as I find part numbers and suppliers for things like extended drain oil filters,
I will post them in this thread. Maybe it will help someone else.

Magnetic Oil Drain Plug

The Ford part number for the oil drain plug is: F6TZ-6730-BA
The plug will fit the 07 & 08 FEH & MMH.

A magnetic oil drain plug is available at NAPA auto supply.
The NAPA part number is: BK 7041370.

08 MMH Block Heater

Block Heater Part #: F5RZ-6A051-B (All 08 MMH)

Wiring Harness Part #'s:

4M6Z-6B018-AA (For MMH with start build dates 4/01/2006 to 1/07/2007)
8M6Z-6B018-A (For MMH with a start build date 1/08/2007 and after)

There is another item that is available, a rechargeable battery module
that plugs into the wiring harness. The shop mechanic said that this
battery is used while the vehicle is underway when the engine is cold
and under extremely cold conditions.

Battery Module Part #: 4MZCU-39H48KJ06277 (no price quoted)

The parts department quoted a price of $165.19 + tax for the heater and
wiring harness. Labor was estimated at 2 1/2 hours to install. The exhaust
manifold must be removed to get to the heaters point of insertion into the
engine block.
