Dan's Prius at the Mendota Hills Wind Farm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mendota_Hills_Wind_Farm)


It was sunset Sunday on I39 just west of Chicago and noticed a wind farm. Ten years ago I saw a wind farm of about 300 in the mountains about 75 miles east of LA along I10 at dawn ten years ago (San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Gorgonio_Pass_Wind_Farm)), but this one was just as incredible and more beautiful.

It's the Mendota Hills Wind Farm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mendota_Hills_Wind_Farm) about 50 miles or so west of Chicago.

Warming: Actual view is more beautiful than they seem in the picture. :)

It is a great view. My daughter took a few pics out the window on the way up. There is a silver Insight with a wind turbine farm in the background that I found on google images. I used it for my background pic on myspace.

I saw that wind farm also, to and from HF. I didn't want to take time to stop, but man it was a purty sight. I have a few lousy pics shot through the car window @ 55mph. ;)

Judging by the direction they were facing, I had a little bit of a headwind both directions.
