Not kidding - a woman was Bo Bo, her pet chicken in the pond with it's head in the water, fished it out and did beak-to mouth resusitation, then chest massage. Bo Bo lived.

Some people will say anything to cover for getting caught kissing a chicken... *sigh*...

I once revived a lab mouse that got a tad too much ether. No M-T-M (too small!), just blew gently on its little nose and did chest massage with one finger. I was my tech's hero!

omigod.........i did something very similar just recently...we had a hen hatch out 10 chicks. as they get a little bigger, they try to sit on the edge of the geese/duck's wading pool, and of course, they fall in and drown. one night i looked over and there were two in there, but one was still moving. i didn't do mouth to beak, however, i fished it out, and moved its wings up and down and kind of lightly squeezed its chest. it finally urped up some water, though it was still very wet. i put in on a towel under a heat lamp in the barn, and son of a gun, the next morning the thing was ready to go again. it's still running around the barn yard :)
