Ok lets say I hit one of my fas points on my daily grind. Speeds will vary from 35 mph to 60 mph.

1) Can I fas the wheels off a HCHII?

2) If I do hit a fas say at 55 mph. ( Slip into N, key off and key back on ) With the key on will the car refire if I slip it back into D with the engine off and traveling say 40 mph? Can you cheat it into thinking you are/were in auto stop?

According to some folks, yes you can. I can't see why not. ;)

I'm actually going to be running some tests as a result of a little discussion I had going with Wayne regarding P&G on the HCHII. More specifically, what kind of a quantitative benefit is there to doing a native P&G with pedal feathering versus integrating the FAS in the routine.

I don't think you can cheat it into auto stop after a powerup from FAS. The other thing about the HCH-2 is that if the powerup is too quick then the gas engine will refire EVEN you have it in "N". Usually, I must wait 3-5 seconds or so after the power-down before rebooting the systems. If I do not wait that amount of time the engine will re-fire. This is why I do not use FAS that much. I prefer to use the gas pedal feathering to turn off the gas engine at will in a glide. Granted there may be some inneficiencies at work that may impact the glide distances but I am willing to live with that for now. However, I am intrigued enough to want to test that as soon as I have some free time.
