I have a sordid list of various Metro maintenance jobs that I've slowly but surely been chipping away at these past few months and the latest conquest was my wiper motor :Banane51:

This is one of the simplest jobs you have can undertake; regardless, here is a succinct outline of the replacement procedure:


1) Disconnect the negative battery cable and wiper motor electrical connectors.

2) Remove the wiper motor retaining bolts and pull motor away from firewall.

3) Gently pry wiper linkage from crank arm.

4) Remove the wiper motor from the vehicle.


To install:


1) Connect wiper linkage to wiper motor.

2) Install the wiper motor to the vehicle. Tighten bolts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).

3) Connect wiper motor electrical connectors, then negative battery cable.

4) Engage the windshield wiper in order to determine whether or not your efforts were in vain ;)
