This morning was a typical commute, but a little sub-par for me. I started 15 minutes late, so the traffic was heavier, but still before rush hour and the gridlock. It was also cold for this time of the year and took an FE hit using an alternate freeway ramp with congestion.
What was unusual was someone blasted their horn for five seconds. Looked and I there was no near misses, hazards, etc. Figured it was a red Civic since their horns are the same as my Insight. I was going 50 in a 60 zone as always - not obstructing traffic.
It just looks like many of the posts on this topic and tailgaters - someone could easily get by, but they get angry anyway.

Yeah, I had an HHR on my butt this morning. Funny thing is, I was doing 40 in a 40 and let up on the gas after the light in front of us turned red. Even then, I simply went from stealthing to gliding.
The only thing that made it more annoying is that they pulled into the parking lot for the same company I work for. Stupid coworker!

... Stupid coworker! You are saying something intresting. During a lunch discussion, the persons around me were talking about how aggressive are the drivers every morning, having absolutly no respect for each other. The driver, get off of his car, enter in the building, take the escalator and finally, it is with theses drivers that you pass most of your week day and their behavior inside of the building has nothing to see with their behavior fiftheen minutes before when they were driving. There is a mutation when peoples are in and out of their car. At that lunch, i had insisted and asked YOU, how did you drive when you came here and YOU, passing everone at the table. I was very surprized (actually not that much) how they avoided the question and they were not comfortable to support my glance.

I haven't experienced any hypermiler hate since I gave my car the full aero treatment. Other drivers are too busy staring at my car to think of behaving badly. The worst I have had are people jockeying their position in the passing lane to have a good look at my car. Some will pass me, then slow down to let me catch up, so they can have second look at my car. Of course, this can sometimes piss off other drivers behind them who aren't as curious, but their hate is directed at the driver who has slowed down and is sitting next to me in the passing lane staring at my car rather than at me.
