I'm driving a 2009 Lexus RX350, and love it, but the fuel economy is killing me.
I have the option to trade it in, on a 2011 Toyota Prius, with Technology Package.
What would you do? Should I hold off for a 2012, Prius V, or one of the new plug in models?? My mind is boggling. Any info, and advice, is appreciated.
Thanks.

Why not a Lexus CT hybrid (same powertrain as the Prius with Lexus creature comforts but only 40 MPG)

Simple. I get less than dealer cost on ALL Toyota/Scion+RX . No Discount on CT.

Looks like a 2011 Prius five (not V) is about 28 K - "plus" package is another 3K - not bad IMO but the plug in sounds good to me if you can wait ...

How many miles do you drive each day on average? The Plug-in would be great if you drive around 15 miles.

Back and forth to work, I'm about 17 miles, so I'd be traveling on almost no fuel, just electricity. I'd only have the fill the tank about once a month to 6 weeks, and that's appealing.

If you have disposable income then there are worse ways of spending that income than making your vehicle more efficient, but if you're only commuting 17 miles each working day that's not too many miles each year so unless you have a lot of other miles, financially you're almost certainly better off sticking with your current car.
How many miles do you drive in total?
Also, note that the Prius Plug-In won't allow pre-heating off the plug and although it has heated seats and uses an electric heater in colder conditions you'd hit the gas more often than you'd like.
