I was wondering how the wheel skirts attach to the Insight. Can any of you Insight owners give a good detailed explanation with good detailed pictures of how they attach? I would like this info for a side project I want to start. Thanks.

This will not be the full explaination you wanted, but use a better gripping thread than the OEM Insight's. One of the few grips I have is the coarse-threaded bolts come off easy....and the replacement fenders run $225. :(

On the 2005 Insight, the wheel skirts are attached by 2 dzus style fasteners at the bottom corners. After loosening the two fasteners, the skirts are pulled out at the bottom and then pulled down to release the skirt from the 6 clips. 4 clips at the top and two more mid-way down the sides. The clips fit into slots molded into the back side of the wheel skirts.

And as Delta Flyer says, always check the fasteners, they are easy to lose.

hawkgt647,

The wheel wells shown in those photos are much too clean! Don't make me send a bunch of slushy, sandy streets your way...
